  1. if your useing a wiring harness to hookup speakers to the radio? make sure that the wires are hooked up on the other end. i had one car that previous owner cut the factory speaker wires from the factory harness and reran new wires.when he sold it he forgot to tell me that he did that.(plus he took the new wiring) also check the speakers.
  2. i thought they had something to do with jdm subarus....or something like that.
  3. after reading the last few posts,i think i'll go for it.gonna take her a test ride tomorrow and maybe talk to the guy about the price.(though it's a fairly low price) now even though it's fuel injected,do they still get a good mpg.he did mention that it might need a cap an rotor/does fuel injected come with a distributor? i know my 2.2 doesn't(but it's a legacy)
  4. one of the reasons i prefer older gen subarus is..... i think they have character! plus it feels right siting in and driving them. i may be the proud owner of a 94 justy with 75,000 on the odometer.(we'll see how things go tomorrow.)
  5. it's a 94 justy and she has about 75,000 miles on her.(don't know why i thought it was a 80s) he wants $300.but he said he'd go down as far as $200.
  6. i guess it would take time for me to get used to a wheel like the XT6s
  7. i'm sure this has been asked in the past.(and yes i did a search) has anyone taken a 2wd just with 5spd trans and convert it to 4wd?? i figure i'd need a complete rear-end/drive shaft and trans from a 4wd... anything else? if anyone knows how/what's needed to do this,i'd appreciated any info thanks. there's a mid-late 80s 2wd justy owned by someone that lives near by and i'm hopeing he'll sell it to me. (if things work out my way,i'll be posting pics)
  8. i think i'll be going to the parts store and change the pcv.maybe that'll make a difference. lets hope so cause i can't afford to have engine replaced.
  9. it idles pretty smooth.i think the problem is the person checking the oil(me)
  10. sorry i forgot that part. 94 legacy gt with the 2.2.it has about 160,000 on it. checked the oil this morning and i think i've been kinda messing up somewhat, cause it was fine and the last time i checked it,it was a'lil over a week ago. (i probably shouldn't start the car first then check the oil.i should probably check before starting)
  11. i'll have to get under the front end soon and take a closer look.i know around the filler tube,it's really covered in oil. maybe 2qrts is going over a bit but that what it seems sometimes.(i refill using a 5qrt bottle so i don't look to see how much it actually use)
  12. i'm either burning alot of oil, cause it's dissapearing somewhere.i'm not seeing any oil under the front end(at least nothing noticable spots) i do notice that it smokes alot when first started cold but it goes away after it's fully warmed up. the smoke i'm seeing, could that be my engine burning the oil? (i hope not) seems like i need to add atleast 2quarts a week:banghead: any ideas.should i give it a seafoam treatment?
  13. may sounds good.now where is marys.?
  14. the new pics look great.that stump that got your tire looked like it could hurt if hit the wrong way.there's a stump like that(but a'lil bigger)along the road i live on. the location look awesome.
  15. looks very awesome(of course, cause it's a subie) really like those wheels.thought they were nissan.
  16. well i had to do that with my 94 legacy wagon.you need to pull the radio out and access it that way.flat head screw driver to loosen the retainer ring and it should just come right out after you disconnect the wire. look at the back of the assembly, you should see a L-shaped wire.on mine it was busted.
  17. http://media.putfile.com/Forester-XT--not-my-best-run never figured a forester xt was quick.i guess it'sthat whole thing about how wagons and sport utilitys are slow. i mean,it just takes off.looks like it beats an acura integra.not only off the line but the whole run.
  18. yah, what Numbchux said. i'll have to get with you about building one for my legacy.
  19. yup, that's the engine i had in mine. i know how you feel about not having a reply to a post.
  20. what? looks like some good pics there(scenic) btw-what year is your jeep.i used to own a 88 wrangler with the straight 6 in place of the inline four it was supposed to have in it.boy it was fun to drive,on and off-road.she had a 3" body lift along with a set of 33x12.5x15 bfgs.
  21. dang civic driver you have a pm
  22. with me,it's not so much rust but having accidents don't help.(lost two subarus cause of that) Woop!!!
  23. HI!! yup there's some granite staters here but only a small few post anything.
  24. myself,i'd just got with the strut/spring swap. 1-easier 2-it's cheaper and number 3-with the right strut/spring/tire combo, you can almost get the same about as with AA. i'll be doing the spring/strut swap soon...
  25. after spending about two hours mucky around changing my front driversside coil spring that broke awhile back. (yup two hours) well after having fun with that,i get her back together and back down on the ground.i decide to test it out.only moved it back and forth about ten feet and....i hear this really bad sounding noise(similar to metal grinding and cruching against metal).so i jack it back up,wheel comes off so i could have a look see.turns out the speed sensor for the abs was bent downward some how(don't know if it happened when i was working on the spring or what)it looks like it was rubbing against that notched wheel that's behind the rotor. ok so after pulling the sensor out and tieing up out of the way(i wasn't at my house, had to drive home)i start off for home.three quarters of the way it was fine, not a peep.then all of a sudden i start getting this noise that sounds like metal bouncing against metal (only when going straight and turning left, but goes away when either going around a right hand bend or turn.) maybe i bent that dust shield behind the rotor so i guess i know what i'm doing tomorrow:banghead: oh to add insult to injury,i go to pull out the power supply spliter that i had plugged into my cig lighter and the whole assembly comes out, shorts and blows a fuse.can it get any better:rolleyes: (updated part)-as it turns out that notched ring (for the abs system)that's behind the rotor was completely loose and flopping around while the wheel was spinning.amazingly i didn't lose any of the small allen key bolts(5 in total) that holds it on.still need to replace the wheel speed sensor that got damaged by that ring(as the wheel turned it got snagged and bent it)abs light is on but atleast there's no noise.
