outback vs explorer
we knew it would. only off-roading i'd do with an explorer, would be just a plain old dirt road. not very exploreable the explorer is,now is it

subie94 replied to 97OBW's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXlooks like my kind of sunday drive ....... when i first picked up my legacy,it didn't have the liners but still put em in cause of the exposed wires for airbag sensors.

Ceramic Brake Pads... What a difference...
subie94 replied to unverviking's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi had a set of bendix ceramic pads on the 99 avenger i had two yrs back.they came with a lifetime garantee.if they ever wore down to a certain amount while i still owned the car they were on-free replacement. only down fall with them is they were kinda hard on stock rotors-burnt mine up. although they were nice an quiet,no squeel, hardly any brake-dust i think they cost me around $40 bucks-not bad for life-time garanteed brake pads (i'm pretty sure i spelled some words wrong, sorry)

HAHAHA silly cousin, offroadings not for escorts! (*NEW PICS*)
reading about your cousin reminded me.back to 1996 when me and a friend went out driving in my 85 mercury linx (ford escort).it was during the winter months an there was snow.well we went behind a local deptment store to do some reverse donuts.we ended up getting stuck in like foot an a half of snow.well to make a long story shorter,i had to call my dad who's girlfriend drove a legacy wagon.they came out at like 2am to pull us out.(one pull) Welcome to the board, Subarus rock off road!

High Lift jack, friend or foe
they do sell the mounting kits for them.some like $15 bucks......or you can make your own not only are they great for lifting but if your in a bind, you could also use em for pulling.

Brake jobs in Seattle
subie94 replied to charm's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXof course myself i'd .......do it myself in your case.if it's just a matter of $50. bucks,i'd go with the place that'll do the job correctly. (of course i've never dealt with either one,so i don't know their way of doing things)

Oil Pressure, yes or no
subie94 replied to swelebny's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXdon't really mean to hijack the thread, but seeing that we're talking about oil pressure an all.couldn't see starting another one.(of course i could of done a search) is it possibly to use the stock oil pressure sending unit to get a reading for a aftermarket pressure guage.i have the guage all mounted and i'm planning on just tapping into the wire going to the sending unit for the oil light. would that work? or would i get a bad reading?
