  1. or he could use the pipes for storage of long straight items
  2. really annoying when it happens .i have my mech coming over tomorrow(i hope) he's helped me the first time. i have a interview with lowes tomorrow, crossing my fingers. weeks before the first time happened.i was hearing a tick, turns out the tick was the loose plug.maybe that's what was causing the tick this time around.maybe it's not a lifter.
  3. well i started the install but i did it to late and before i could finish it got dark out.not to mention that my drill started to go dead before i could finish making the rear holes bigger. i do have the rear bolts in place and waiting for the plate.i put in some spacers so the back of the plate will drop down about 1/2 inch. spacers for the rear of the plate skid plate all mounted
  4. i wonder if the pipe would be strong enough to use for ...say compressed air? maybe, maybe not...what do you all think
  5. yup that's how i did mine.remove lower one to drain' date='upper one to fill. you can see them at the edge of the pic
  6. i just had another spark-plug blow out though it's not the same subaru.it happened the first time on my 92 legacy(that was my fault, the plug kept coming loose short after i'd tighten it) this time i'm just driving along then POP then she starts to run really sh*ty.you can smell the gas coming out of the spark plug hole and it almost sounded like an exhaust leak. well i pull over real quick an open the hood,i see the plug laying there and go to reach for it to inspect it(it falls before i could get it,out of reach now) first time this happened, plug wire held onto plug, not this time.for some reason that small nipple on top of the plug came off and was stuck in the wire(got it out) now i have to hali-coil another spark-plug back in. if things weren't bad enough with me being out of work an all. (still can't find that dang plug,i think it landed on the cross-member under the engine or somewhere out of sight an reach)
  7. the time it was leaking, you weren't running the a/c were you? i had a leak out from under the dash (glove box area) it turned out that a small drain hose was disconnected.it's a drain for the a/c the hose isn't hard to reach.pull the carpet bk a little an you should see it.
  8. i'm getting the same thing(popping) when ever i shut off my aux lights.i get a pop out of the speakers.mainly out of the subwoofers though.i wonder if it's cause both the amp an lights are hooked up to the battery for power source(should of did a fuse tap for the lights)
  9. a do it yourself job? i'm lucky so far(knocks on wood) only bulb i had to replace is headlights.no instrument lights. i have a 94 legacy and climate control lights up.i think you have some bulbs out. this reminds me,i gotta replace the ash tray bulb.
  10. just never cross-thread the plugs!!!! (i speak from experience) cross-threaded,didn't fix,got bad enough that spark plug blown out while driving to a doctors appt. :banghead:
  11. or if you really want to make sure pressure isn't there.first i'd undo gas cap, then pull back the carpet in the rear and open one side of the gas tank(under access panel)
  12. you wouldn't happen to be able to get a pic of it.i just happen to pick one up from 91loyale(thanks again and sorry for making ya wait) and i just wanted a pic to refer to so when i go to install mine i'll know what to look forward to.did you use the bolts from the loyale? thanks if you can post a pic,if not no problem.
  13. sounded like a blast. "EDIT: I'll try and lay hands on a camera next time, and to snag some pics of the roo as it is atm... covered in mud from rump roast to teakettle." yah hurry up and get some pics of your beast in action. (i know i have to )
  14. looks great. yup now you gotta lift it,i'll get around to lifting my legacy someday where abouts in n.h. did you get it from?
  15. yup, just add a hose hook-up and drill some holes along the sides of it===shower for the impreza j/k austin, looks good have you taken it up to highway speeds yet? i added a simple bar across the front of the factory rails and first time on the highway(65mph) dang roof vibrated (light weight aluminum,90 degree corner piece)
  16. just as long as it doesn't snow before i move.it'll be around the end of this month.after then it could snow up to two feet and it wouldn't bother me.
  17. thanks for the heads up on what else to do.the ticking is really driving me nuts(only when i don't have the radio on)
  18. ok so what's the worst that could happen if i gots to much oil? not much, enough to bring it up about a quarter past the full mark on the dip stick. i remember reading that it could cause the lifters to float...anything else?
  19. kumho's a good name, just not sure as to how they are in the snow and what not. myself,i'd go with the cheapest.
  20. i saw a gut do something like that but with hydralics and it wasn't a subaru.he could lift up or push down a different wheel with a flick of a switch.
  21. well i seafoamed it yesterday and at first it seamed to shut it up but them i noticed it again, couple hours later when i had to restart the engine and today it's doing it. maybe i gave her the wrong nickname.it should of been ticky should i have used the whole can?
