  1. looks cool.it'd look good on mine(if i had money)
  2. i'm gonna have to check the springs out.when you say strut tops,do you mean strut caps that attach to the body? i called my friend that has a garage and left a message about the noise.i figured it would be better to use his garage then lay out on the cold ground.not to mention i don't have access to my jack stands. thanks for the suggestions
  3. when i steer past a certain point (left or right) it sounds like something is binding.sounds kinda like a knock or loud popping(kinda hard to describe) almost sounds like a outter cv joint that has gone bad(crunchy sound) it'll make the sound if the car's moving or sitting still. i'm thinking it might be the joints in the steering shaft.crossing my fingers and knocking on wood that it isn't the rack.(that's all i'd need right now) if anyone has had the same prob or suggestions on things to look at (p.s. i took a look under and didn't see anything, unless it's that sparkplug i lost awhile back an never found)

    well can't they??? (well almost)
  5. i normally let her run for about 10-15 mins.all the while just running the trans through the gears wihout letting out the clutch(loosens it up) still take it easy on the shifting (shifts to 2nd are hard sometimes, unless i do it slow and gentle) an rpms untill it's fully warmed up.

hope you didn't do it at high speeds.(over 25-30mphs) i tried it once with my 92 legacy wagon and i got high-centered.it was at stock ride height
  9. and going downhill:lol: (ski slope) i love gravel roads.the sound of the stones under my tires.downfall is the gravel being thrown against the body panels.
  10. put something like this on the end of the straight pipe i picked it up off e-bay for something like $24 bucks including s/h , then $85 bucks for local speed shop to weld it in.they left in both cats.
  11. ok,at first it looked metal.not to knowledged in the subies that are of that year.
  12. imo, that's just like sending it to the scrap yard. unless the body is shot, then i'd be sneaky and use the 4wd.
  13. do you have it centered between the seat backs? what's that metal piece, the sub looks pretty close to it.i'd be worried about the sub hitting it if the sub moves out hard.(unless they don't move much?) it does look good though.
  14. well first i need to get back onto the working scene(need a job to pay for the struts an gas ) i hope to hear back from one of the many of places i applied to sometime this week.one's a casting company that does some castings of auto parts.
  15. i'd be paranoid if i drove a hon-duh pilot too
  16. well..... when i did mine(94 legacy) it took me and my mech approx 5hrs.only because we had to stop acouple a times and he had to go to the parts store for some o ring seals(or something like that) i basically stood there and handed tools when needed :-p
  17. man it needs to snow here again (or find a parking lot that's iced over smooth)video clips were cool.you need to teach the other guy how it's done.
  18. so what parts did you need to aquire in order to do the auto-5spd swap? someone at another subaru site wants to do one this upcoming spring and asked me if i knew what other items he needs.
  19. i'll have to tell the guy to check his fluid
  20. this is a question i got in my e-mail from another subaru place i frequently visit.. [i have an 86 GL-10 turbo 4WD with automatic transmition, and the transmittion will not shift out of 1st gear, ive replaced the modulator and still have the problem. so for now i just drive it arround town and manualy shift it into 2 geer so i can do about 25 to 30 MPH. Somone said it might be the govener shaft but it was just a guess. Before i check that out does anyone know of another posability] i figured i'd check here to see if anyone knows the prob.
  21. Hmmm...me too(don't have the wagons now,but they both had the{air directors}) i used to race down some dirt roads and did notice not as much dust on the back window, sides were covered
  22. i'm not sure myself have you tried taking the cover off the hatch to see?
  23. i was just reading in motor trend magazine.. they did a comparison between the two in the dec 2005 issue.both were 2006 models the specs an results were so close it's not funny.except for the fact that the sti had more hp and was like $2-3,000 less. 0-60 torque horsepower sti= 4.5 sti=300 sti=300 lancer=4.5 lancer=289 lancer=286 wish i had a link
