  3. yeah i hear ya, mine started with a non AWD!! it was more than a simple sniffle
  4. i second this opinion, i've seen this a few times...
  5. ok i have solved my problem by getting a used OEM axle from the junk yard for $20, replacing the boots and returning the aftermarket axle... the used axle didnt have ripped boots i just replaced them to make sure they'll last long enough.... and guess what!? I HAVE NO VIBRATIONS!!!! i hate aftermarket crap!@ i will never buy axles at advance auto parts again
  6. anyone's got the website or phone number for these people? i'm interested getting an axle rebuilt
  7. that CV just pissed me off, it sounds like it is a worn out CV and it vibrates!!! so i am definetelly getting my old one redone and putting it back in the car... now is there something i could be doing wrong? any tips and tricks for when i put the original back in the car?
  8. this is for a 95 legacy i just finished putting the exchanged axle in, and.... its doing the same thing!!!!! so i am gonna get my OEM fixed up. The outer boot is torn so i guess i can slap a new boot in and put it back in the car and return the aftermarket one
  9. well i decided to change one of my axles today and i bought a brand new axle and when i was done with it i had a nasty vibration when accelerating... now i know i installed it the right way, so i went down to the parts store and got another one to install tomorrow and return the defective one... could the inner joint be defective and give that vibration?
  10. double offset joint? is that correct? how do i fix this and what is the cause
  11. yeah i know i've had pently of those, i just didnt feel arguing with them any longer so i picked up and left after the 3rd time
  12. the alignment was off because of the outback strut install and also new tie rods... do i decided to go get an alignment since i have new tires
  13. hmmm, it was pepboys, they kept giving me excuses that my steering box may be damaged or something... grrrrr they hire high school kids to do these jobs.. i may have to get under it and do it myself, ugh!
  14. the steering wheel was str8 when they started but the alignment was off correct, the alignment is ok but the steering wheel is off to the left when driving str8 and they did use the wheel holder thing and on the 3rd time i made sure it was on a str8 position
  15. ...however the steering wheel is about 2 to 5 degrees to the left, i went back to the place where the alignment was done and they did the alignment 3 times! and they could not find out why the steering wheel would not go str8... all the numbers were ok... i was there present and they showed me all the numbers on the computer... remember that this car has all new front end, ball joints, steering system, struts, springs, etc... what else could it be??
  16. i get that all the time, "subarus are ugly and quirky", i say that i dont care i love them and i would die for one of them, i mean it so, lets just show off all of our subarus... new, old and middle 90's they are all subarus we love... Bucky... bring her out!

  19. i got piston slap on my 2.2, but it is mostly when its cold outside... it goes away after it warms up.. however i also get when i do heavy highway driving and come to a stop, thats when i get the slap too
  20. so that means my 95 legacy has the same trans as the 96 outback right?
