  1. went to NC and back to NJ on a bad axle, thats 500 plus miles each way, no problems! i had the same symptoms as you are having... i just bought a new axle at advance auto parts for $43.. and oyu can def do the job yourself.. good luck
  2. i got my valve cover gaskets and PCV for under 20 bucks at advance auto they are doing well so far after 1k miles
  3. wow, i'm speechless! you should defientely come down to NJ with Paul for a Pine Barrens run there will be a run either feb or march
  4. njdrsubaru replied to Andyjo's topic in Off Road
nice one, ineed one of those for my 95 legacy
  5. i wouldnt drive the car like that, i suggest you fix the universal first before moving that car anywhere... again from a junk yard it should be 100 bucks for the universal and a new O2 sensor for 40 to 50 bucks. The universal is super easy to change so is the O2 sensor, the only problem is getting that huge heat shield off from the middle of the car ( got rid of mine) good luck
  6. i agree my legacy had only fwd till recently when i had the awd fixed, OMG what a difference!
  7. 385K on a 90 legacy awd 5psd, bought the car with 272K miles, sold it with 385K for 400 bucks, only thing i did to it, was to keep up with the rust which was everywhere and every panel and a clutch
  8. i think 2200 is a little too much, i just got a 95 LS for 1600 with 161k on it i think you can budge the guy down to 1500 even 1400
  9. last time we went to the barrens in Feb, we had lots of ice, and one of us hit a tree!, lol never, ever ever try to cross an ice flat too fast!
  10. oh my isnt it annoying! i had a 07 legacy to use for work for awhile, and hell that thing was annoying, thank god that car is gone from my hands, lol
  11. ATTENTION! Problem fixed for everyone with the same problem as i had: the only way to solve this problem is to change your clutch pack and gears. The gear on mine was sheared off from the drive shaft and i needed a whole new assembly. Luckily AWD Inc was able to find me a good used one, the rear tail housing. Replacement parts at the dealer are veryexpensive and that if you can still find them. As Tom mentioned, take care of that torque bind before its too late, or you'll end up without AWD.
  12. hmm now you brought up something i've experienced before... a bad O2 sensor on EJ22T will have the symptoms of a bad ignitor
  13. how about lipstick holders!? i want a new fozz so bad!
  14. I had an 1996 impreza outback and a regular impreza wagon, and the only difference were the tires, you are correct, no spacers or suspension... although they may have changed that in 2000
  15. :-\ i just had the same problem, and it turned out to be the used CV axle i got from the junk yard, and i really thought it was the U joint... so check your axles first they may be on the way out
  16. pay attention to the wheels!
  17. def sounds like a bad ignitor, that thing by the firewall, however check your grounds too, the connections tend to get all messy during winter season have u checked your knock sensor? finally try a different set of cables
  18. pretty much what nipper said, plus loss of power, interminent miss
