  1. It's splined on both ends so unless you took it off your steering should be OK. If you pulled it, the steering wheel may be off center but no alignment problems. Tight is good, I've never seen one back off.
  2. I have a good set of senders and a pump, your's for $40+shipping from CO. Lmdew@hotmail.com
  3. If the trans drive spins without moving the car, the gear is trash. You can not pull the shaft up, as it has a c-clip on the bottom. You will need to pull the passenger side axle, the stub shaft, the bearing housing (make sure you mark it for proper bearing load) and then you can get in and change the gear/s. Not an easy job, I'd get a new outter seal and the oring for the bearing housing. Make sure you do not cross thread it when you put it back in.
  4. The drive may have failed in the trans. Check to see if the output is turning as the car is dirven. Plastic gears in some trans.
  5. The dealer is trying to work things out. The Ebay Manager, Jason was goint to drop the car for me at MHT, but then the owner put the brakes on that Idea. Now I have to wait overnight, 12 hours of drive time lost. The dealer closes at 6 and I do not land until 6:45pm From NASIOC I have a possible ride and links to local transport so I can get to the dealer. Then its just the 2000 mile trip home. Lifes a trip, enjoy the time you have :>) Thanks to All, Larry
  6. I'm flying into MHT on Friday evening. I have to get down to Subaru of Nashau, NH. Other than taking a taxi, I have not found public transportation. Anyone close by? I'm picking up a 99 Impreza to drive back to Colorado. Thanks, Larry Lmdew@hotmail.com
  7. I think the temp sensor and fan switch are different. Look at the R/H intake manifold. You should see two sensors. You can put the ECM into D-check green connectors if my memory is correct and the fans should cycle. If they are doing that the wires should be good. Have you burpped the system? If there is air in the system it will cause problems. Good luck. Larry
  8. Back off the tie rod jam nut. Remove the tie rod (TR) cotter pin and nut. Unscrew the TR end. Count the threads or measure so you can reset the toe. Remove the outter boot clamp. Slide the complete boot off. Clean the rack end as much as possible. Reverse order and your done.
  9. Could be, make sure all tires are the same and have the proper pressure. Try putting in the FWD fuse and see if the FWD light comes on and the problem goes away. If so flush the trans. I have an extra shifer assy if you want it. $20+shipping from CO. Lmdew@hotmail.com
  10. I picked up a 93 Impreza 1.8 153K. It runs fine but the coolant was full of oil, 99% oil. The oil does not have coolant in it, its clean as can be. Initially, I thought one of the quick lubes missed serviced. The PO said, that was not the case and the engine was using oil. They kept it full of Oil. Has anyone seen this? Head Gasket? Thanks, Larry
  11. I agree, for now its working and when I get time I'll look into it further. Thanks for the links and info. It was pulling 18A on a 15 amp fuse. Thanks Again.
  12. Strange, I pulled the other two wires and put the turn signal wire back in its connector. The fuse blew with only the turn signals. I pulled the turn signal wire and jumped pulled power from the another 15A CB and it works fine. I watch it and see what happens.
  13. I found the correct wire for the signals, bottom aft connector on the kick panel fuse box top aft wire. If I power it from another fuse the signals work fine. By taking apart another fuse box, I found two other wires coming off that CB. Now I just have to figure out what the go to. Thanks for the suggestion. Larry
  14. I have a 93 Turbo Legacy Sedan that the turn signal fuse blows as soon as the key is turn on (top aft fuse on the drivers kick panel). Funny thing, the emergency flashers work just fine. I need the FSM wiring, as the Michell's and Chiltons I have seem to be wrong. I've disconnected the turn siganl switch - fuse still blows I've disconnected the Emergency Flasher Switch - fuse still blows The only way I've been able to get it to stop is to disconnect the connector coming off the fuse block, top aft. If you have any thoughts, please send the advice and or wiring diagram. Thanks, Larry Lmdew@hotmail.com
  15. Before you open it up, I'd contact the shop and see what they will do for you. If they are a good shop, they should stand behind their work. If it was a part failure, that they could not see, they would not be at fault but they may still help you some.
  16. Any problems putting a 93 2.2 into a 93 Impreza auto trans? Is the y-pipe the same? I think everything else is a straight cross. Thanks
  17. Look at the rollers on the track. I'd have someone hold the window and pull the motor out. Then hand lower and raise the window to make sure it is working without binding. When its good, re-install the motor. You should be able to check the motor while it's out as well. Its just a 12vdc motor.
  18. I have a complete 99 dash cluster, $75+15 shipping. Lmdew@hotmail.com. There 77K on it I think.
  19. Easy, they make special wrenches for the O2 sensor or get a 7/8" tube wrench. Shoot it with some PB Blaster or other break-free lube and let it set. Pull the old one, put in the new.
  20. Used parts are BBW unless they have a return policy. Then they will only give you another used part, may be good, may be bad. Labor is always at your expense. If the garage was not inside the trans, they didn't do anything that would cause torque bind. Does it go into the FWD mode when the fuse is installed?
  21. The coil is 3-4 1-2 If 1&2 are not sparking try the other ECU. I just had the same thing happen on a 93 Turbo engine swap, we got the wrong ECU in and it would not run and there was no sparke on the front coil of the coil pack.
  22. I have a line on a good 93 Impreza with bad headgaskets on a 1.8 engine. I'm looking for a USMB Member who may be willing to repalce the HG or drop in a good used 2.2. I'm in Colorado and I think it may be cheaper to get it fixed there and then drive it home. If you've done this type of work on Subarus before or know of a good private shop in the area please let me know. Willing to pay for parts and your time. Thanks, Larry Lmdew@hotmail.com
