  1. Today i replaced the air filter, PCV with a OEM, sprayed the MAF(going to spray the O2 later) and did the plugs i got the NGK plugs for $1.50 each, and torqued each down the 16ft-lbs(same with the PCV, i like using a torque wrench lol). Heres pics of my olds plugs and new.
  2. tommorow i might go to a junk yard and get a CV. Just out of curiousity if the axle did break, would it be RWD?
  3. well, when the car is cold and i make a turn it knocks really loud and you can feel it. Also when i accel the steering wheel turns to the left a bit, not even on hard accel, light, very light. and that CV is a reman, that is OVER 90k. And the boot is partially broken. i think im going to change my diff oil in the front and see if that makes it more smooth.
  4. has 191,000Miles converted. CAT was replaced at i think 160k(again converted). O2 sesnor, my dad said he changed it, but i don't think so, he assumes he did becasue he replaced the CAT. EDIT: i just asked him again, he said he replaced the o2 sensor when he got a check engine light, but it didn't go away, then he replaced the CAT and the light went away. I should be able to get atleast 450KM a tank CITY correct? people say they average 20miles to the gal, after i converted everything MINIMUM i should get 500KM.
  5. Hey, well i changed my pcv(non oem) knock sensor, use a TINY bit of throttle body cleaner to clean the MAF, and cleaned the throttle body, use some fuel injection cleaner. And i went from 380KM a tank rougly to 280-300 after doing all this :-\ I am going to get some new plugs from my dealer(1.50 each) and get a oem airfilter, and PCV valve. I will also get some MAF cleaner and spray the sensor very good. Anything else i should look at that is common? Thanks. Also the car has some hesistation on take off, i think its my CV.
  6. I SOOOO badly want to :Flame:you PS: i wouldn't say 90-94's were slow, overall in comparison, i think they were VERY quick for there time, and i think the 90-94 look pretty good in comparison to 95 to? i dont know 98?
  7. He lives in california, why does he need a block heater. I don't use a block heater even when it gets to -40C at times and my engine starts like normal.
  8. Hmm, i used some CA glue to hold the velcro to the rubber piece on the floor and to the bottom of the carpet seems to be holding very well. Thanks
  9. Maybe your 02 sensor, and MAF. First thing that would be good to do is change all the plugs and wires, air filter,fuel filter all the little things. Then you could remove the MAF and try spraying it with MAF cleaner. Also use some fuel injection cleaner, and try some seafoam through the pcv valve if you like. The check engine light might be dead, but try to check the codes, here is a site how. I wonder if a clogged CAT causes this problem as well.   10. man my 93 leg has been missing that for atleast 10 years I have been living with all the crazyness of the damn carpet moving around, i think tommorow i will just make my own with black coat hanger or just plain black wire, should definitly be stronger.
  11. Man, i still love the 07 and older. i mean look at it hands down the 07 had a nicer grill!
  12. ya, its really weird the way these cars rumble, every other car i have been in has never vibrated like these cars. When i feel like it im going to change my tranny mount, in hopes that it makes it idle even better. Now im hoping to get MUCH better fuel economy with the new knock sensor.
  13. definitly sounds like its low on refrigerant like nipper said, will not run with little to no pressure or the bearings in compressor don;t get any lubrication(i believe, correc me if im wrong). Alot of problems occuring with newer subaru;s and all dealers say is its normal, everything is normal, you come in why is my car blowing smoke heavily, normal, why does my seat catch on fire with my heated seats on, normal, why does the engine not start? normal. I guess everything is normal.:-\

I think there awful!! i lost faith in subaru, nothing in there body style is original anymore, i mean the new mazda 3 oopps i mean impreza looks exactly like a mazada what is this? and the tribeca's front end its like a ford edge. Then the front end of the new outback what???? to be honest the best looking year of impreza's were the 04's and outbacks anything 04-06, legacies the new ones look pretty good and the tribeca to be honest i think the first gen tribeca looks much better, and the forester well in some ways i only like the 04 but in other ways i like the newer gens 06-08. Overall i think subaru's now adays are nothing like they used to be in the early 90's, no where near as good quality. Then again if you look at ALOT of other forums they are have alot of problems, compared to new subaru's. Subaru's will pretty much be the only car i would buy(if i need to buy another subaru, im pretty sure im pushing my legacy for a VERY long time). Next car most likely will be a tribeca, i know its odd, but i think they look very good. Anyway thats what i think.
  15. replaced the knock sensor, so far the car is amazing now. And idle is very consistant.
  16. thats very expensive! i heard one guy did it and he said he "welded the diff"?? i don't know how to do it, but i guess it can be done, maybe some JB weld?
  17. i consider rough when i can feel idle at all :-p But after i cleaned the throttle body its pretty much can't feel idle at all. Not shaking like its going to die.
  18. 1. Tried seafoam, no difference(through PCV) 2. fuel injection cleaner in the tank, no difference 3. wipe throtle body and spray throttle body cleaner VERY heavily in the throttle body, pretty much eliminated rough idle SO this seems to be the best way to fix rough idle. 4. sprayed maf sensor with cleaner, not VERY noticeable but fuel economy seems better ill see next fill up. Now im experimenting with the voltage im getting at idle. when i turn on my lights while im in Park, the rpms drop ever so slightly and the engine rumbles a bit, turn off lights, engine is smooth and idle came up a tiny bit. So now im going to look into new ground cables as the alternator is pushing 14.4v. AFAIK I also have a cracked knock sensor no CEL though, so after i get the new sensor this week ill report on whether it makes it more smoother then it is. Just thought id share. tested on my 93 legacy NON turbo Wagon L. with 190k(about 292,000KM)
