the tires are brand spankin new, all equal pressure, new tranny, clutch pakcs, and drive solendoid, NO powerlight flashes, no codes. um, i gota try again though, but im better off waiting untill it rains or snows, because its hard to determine whats up, like my dad will floor it ,and it spun last time we tried gunning it, and it was cold the car, and i watched from outside, but no FWD fuse was inserted, but we never tried at the time with it in. I should go to the dam tranny shop who charged me 3k! and yell at him untill me tells me the truth, he claims he changed the TCU with a new 600 dollar TCU, my butt, that idiot there he probably underfilled my tranny, then it didnt shift when i floored it, and it screwed up my clutch packs, then he probably put in a used tranny. He claims the tranny is the same, there is no way thats possible, its looks like a new tranny. ANd my TCU is the exact same one, hes a idiot! im a idiot for letting my dad pay for the bill. I told my dad we should go over there and give them ************. Gets me so angry, like if i spent 3000CDN i would have preffered getting a 60k engine and tranny combo for 700 at my local JDM parts store and get my subaru dealer to install it. would have also been good if the car worked perfectly for 3000!! and if he didnt cost me 500 for a abs sensor.

not much, i put it in, but this i really confusing me, i put the fuse in and the car felt more liek AWD! but without it in, i find the front wheels spin like crazy! wtf? i had the FWD light on, but it felt more better with the fuse in, no wheel slippage, but with it out, its kind of mixed, sometimes it will slip the front wheels, sometimes not.

Hmm? tranny mount u say? how can it get damaged? like sometimes i feel the car struggles taking off on level ground, but then sometimes, it takes off really smooth! then other times the engines struggles, and vibrates a bit on take off, and its shivers every so often on turns, but not torque binding. I really dont know what to make of this. What should i check, the only thing i find is sometimes when u give it the gas turning or straight sometimes the engine stuggles, then i hear a little crack noise from the dash board. If the tranny mount is damaged how would i know, thanks!

ya good point, he probably let off the gas when we saw me trieing to get in, but still overall i think these cars are very quick. A honda, is uncomparable, and i dont think the auto and manu difference is huge, like my tranny downshifts instantly, and shifts really quick, at high rpm's. But i would think the gear ratio has alot to do with the way the car drives, like i find when i floor it from stand still, its a 6krpms instantly, i think a 3.9ratio? i think thats waht i mean is better then the 4.11? or is it the other way around. But overall, these cars are pretty dam quick, and a new honda is a new honda, and im sure they way ALOT less. And what someone said about AWD making it slower. Well, initially, thats why i got the boxer engine, lol, and i think the main issue with the awd system is the stress, but if the computer sends more torque to the front, and a little to the back like 5 or 10percent it should be good. Like when u try a newer subaru like a forester, u floor it and u can definitly feel the 50 50 split torque and a definit reduction with off the line performance, then we i get back in my 1993 subaru legacy, i Gun is, and its gone, thats what i love about my car, compared to the dam forester. Subaru tells me its a safety feature LOL, so if i get hit by a bus its safety? bbecause i couldnt get out of the way? But thats My Opinion.

engine rpm

ya ur good, but they run umbelievably smooth, even at that rpm, and super quiet. Just i got this crappy temporary muffler i got installed, and if ur outside , it is SOO loud, inside its still quiet, but it was WAY more quieter, before with my old exhaust. -
my dad is the man who could do the job, i could to but, i like going to my subaru dealer instead lol. So ill probably just get it drained, but not flushed, but you think the slight bang will be gone after the tranny flush? like it just makes the bump when u take off in rain or slippery conditons, so this is me taking off vvvrvvvvvvv see that r thats where the awd kicks in. And another thing, whenever i get off the gas there is a wining noise in the back, like i can feel it downshift, whenever i get off the gas, why? so anoyying lol.

engine rpm

mine is at i think 2500rpms? or 3000rpms at 120km. -
ok, well i gota to do a tranny flush soon, becase now my AWD kicks in quick, but i can feel it really good, u take of them thump! and it then goes. But why cant i just open the drain plug, drain whatever is there, then refill according to the dip stick? like a regular oil change? like when i first checked the tranny dip stick after my tranny was fixed, the idiots who screwed me, overfilled my tranny ALOT, like a little above full on the hot side of the dip stick, and it was cold the tranny. I drainedit to the point where it sits at full on cold a little above though, and i drove it around for about 40km? and the dip stick was like 3/5 the way up on the hot side, is that alright? But whenever i look at the dipstick, its has bubbles on it? is that right?

same with my car, u know what though, i took out my glove box, and tightened the screw for the vent door motor, and my mom drives the car all day, and she said there is NO knocking anymore, the screws weren't loose, but they werent tight either, like there were tight, but then it slipped the screws, and it pulled further in, but even when my car was new, it still had this problem, but my dad said it never did it when he brought it to the dealer, now its gone, lol, but my dad said its a pneumatic system, its a motor though, for a pneumatic door, shouldn't keep banging.

LOL u GUYS u think 1500 is alot? I had spent 10k LOL 1500 that makes me laugh, but thats because i got screwed by a transmision shop, and 2k at subaru dealer to fix what the tranny shop f'ed up, and 2k in body work, and 2k in struts, waterpump, timing belt, then 200 on a new crank pulley because of the cheap shop who did the timing belt, and there is a long list of crap done, id really hope the dam tranny shop burns in h***!

What should I do
ericem replied to Jaysz's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
im sure u can get a better deal, i got quoted $800CDN for a engine, pressure tested, and a tranny, pressure tested, both for 800CDN not US and they had less then 60,000KM and they looked mint, would have been smart if i decided to get the tranny and engine combo, instead of fixing my crappy tranny, that i spent a CRAP load more then 800($1400CDN installed) Aw well u loose and gain.
