  1. OK, perfect, thanks nipper, and i changed the ridiculous thread title(why would i use that as a title:confused:)
  2. report them eh? what do i report? being ripped off, hard, on a 13 year old car that is worth 1000? and getting a huge bill which was uncalled for, and would not tell me what they were doing during the time being, nor tell me if the price changed. And yes i do have a DMV, but they usually have a long line:-\
  3. is there suppost to be a butterfly clip around the pcv? mine doesnt, it just goes on loose, lol, umm, is that bad?
  4. lol, ur telling me, they wouldnt even tell me anything over the phone, i just get there and they throw this bill at me.
  5. THATS WAHT SUBARU TOLD ME!!! they told me the front left bearing that they replaced was bad, and IT COST ME A NEW ABS SENSOR
  6. OK, i found the receipt, took a long time to find it, but i found it, i think monday ill stop by now that i have the receipt have a looksy , Might scare some off you thouhg.:-\
  7. You could always hookup a Axim x51v because it has a VGA out and has really good resolution, just you need a good techy(im pretty good) and your set, because somehow you need the touchscreen to interface with the pda, so im guessing its USB so you need to spend 150 for a USB addon, then you need to install the drivers plug it in, and your good to go, then you have GPS, video, music, calendar, internet, everything possible that can be done with ur laptop or PC, just in a small light mobile package, at a low price. Heres a AXIM:
  8. Ok thanks guys, i found out i needed to remove the door panel, to get to the 4th screw, oh well, atleast i didnt get that far, and atleast i came upstairs and read this before wasting my time:lol:
  9. Does the transmission have full fluid? If they aren't filled it to full you loose lubrication, then i guess the tranny overheats, then the bearings go etc, but what do i know? Sounds like more of a mechanical thing, but i wonder if the torque converter has anything to do with this? But still the dealer should get this problem straightened out, before warrenty is up.
  10. Right now im pulling off the driver side mirror, because there is wind noise coming through the mirrors, people said there is a gasket that needs to be shapped so there is no more wind noise, but something is stopping the mirrors from comming off, its just 3 screws right? Thanks guys.
  11. yes, and most timing chain engine's are interference, and ive heard about quiet a few breaking, and they are definitly more noisy, but for most they look at it as less maintenance. But still pretty unlikely, but we will like what we like.
  12. i know one, i dont know if this will work, but i think when you shut off the key it runs at a really really low voltage, which keeps the memory going, or there is a separate connection, so depending on how low the voltage is, run a seperate battery to radio just to hold the memory, although im probably wrong, but atleast i tried:clap: Or just pull the EGI/AT fuse(as said on my fuse box inside the car)
  13. So, this is probably the issue with my tranny, if the guy acually changed the clutch packs and drive solenoid, it shouldnt bang ,and take a few seconds to kickin! Aha!
  14. mine has the same issue, and it eventually kicks in, but when it does, i get torque steer, and i dont think you should feel it kick in. Might be time for a AWD unit rebuild, mine had a rebuild as they claim, but ill bet they swapped my tranny, maybe a tranny flush would help.
  15. God knows, but id just pull the ECU fuse for 45 mins, then let it program itself.
  16. doesnt that increase vibrations? I think washers would work best, what do u think? but is the problem that the heatshields are rusted? and need to be cut off, soo hmm:-\
  17. Id do it soon, i think if the CV's overheat, because they dont have any lubrication, they take the wheel bearings with it.
  18. i remember a while back, i went atv'ing and my dad used his GMC savana(has a posi rear diff) and we parked there for a few hours, then we loadeed up the atv's, we left, and i said dad lets goo! he said, um were stuck, . So i get out, and we were stuck both wheels were spinning, and no traction at all(wet grass) and ontop of that my dad WOT and dug a hole:clap: he dug so deep that the truck was on the ground:rolleyes: Well it was fun, especially watching our Arctic Cat 500 TRV atv try and pull out the truck with the wench, no luck though(duh 800lb's verse 4000lb's or more way more) and then we try to load the back of the truck on the front of the atv, that didnt work off course, i didnt undestand the idea, but we put a nice dent in the chrome bumper. THen we gave up and my granddaddy came over and pulled out the truck with his Mercedes ML, pulled it out without any slippage , and we didnt even put it in low gear. Good times, good times:grin: Forgot to mension we also flattened the tires, AFTER my dad digs a hole deep enough tha tthe tires arent touching the ground? :-p
  19. really hard to tell, but id say the rear, and it sounds about the same at any speed, except below 40, but it only does it, when you have been driving all day so all the components would be hot. But when the car is cold, i dont think i can hear it. I also have a bad CV boot in the front.
