  1. did u ready my post? lol, it said that it dashboard makes noise, not the car handles like crap, the rear strut could be replaced, but they aren't leaking, and the front ones are new. hey, so the strut bars on ebay, i see them, hmm, im wondering if i should get a cheap one too. But i got to wait on shipping, but its better then spending 200CDN. But might be the same price by the time is arrives.
  2. My cars runs good in all, but still the cracking from the dashboard. So if i buy a front strut bar, not a rear one, u think it will make a noticeable difference, in body flex? Im looking at a Cusco bar, for 200CDN. Think it will make the car stiff and solid as ever? Thanks guys!
  3. how hard is it to replace, and yes its the 93 leg. And how much? But funny thing, when the car was new my dad said it did it, but didnt do it whenever he went to the dealer.
  4. when i go to subaru the guy, does a oil change, and changed the gasket on the drain plug, and torques the bolt to 30ft-lbs, and i watched him,
  5. OK, now now now, my vents bang while im driving, grr, they change, but it makes a loud banging noise, im sure its the heat vents, because on vent or ac or bilev, no noise, only in heat, or heat/def, then i hit the heater core, and it sometimes goes away, and then comes back after i hit a bump, why? but it not taping, its LOUD, like bang bang bang, in a soft bang.
  6. the heat won't be to hot on cold days, and ur car runs unefficient. but 10 bucks its the thermostat for the needle, not the acual thermostat ($15)
  7. well, with a Subaru, u definitly need to do it more often, like MIN every 100k.
  8. ya, that tick noise. My dads Nissan Titan with a V8 5.6 it did that,we then tried synthetic, no more ticking noise, even in -30C!!!
  9. lol, yeh i was thinking universal joints, but thought, if its the wrong word ill sound like a idiot, lol.
  10. but the stem might be loose, cant it ? Mine was, made it nice and tight and no more leaking.
  11. EEEK! thats bad, and u definitly dont want uneven tire pressure with a subaru, ull kill ur AWD transfercase( clutches mostly). Are u running rims or steel rims? Alloy or Aluminum rims i think sometimes, leak air, but it probably a simple fix. Like the valve on the stem, get those flat screw drivers with the stem driver at the other end, or this tool see. http://www.hozan.co.jp/cycle_e/catalog/tire_tube/D-12.htm click the D-12 valve driver
  12. wasnt there something different on the engines? Like 2 exhaust manifolds i dont know something 2 instead of 1? or was this after 97 mid?
  13. OK, finally got around to it and went under the car, and i saw these assorted ball jointed things coming out of the firewall. So one has a bolt u could clearly see was about to fall out, so i tighten it and, NO PLAY YAY! but i dont know should i lock tight it? SHould it be AS tight as possable? Will it affect alignment? Thanks!
  14. ya ur probably right about that. That bites, but someone has to make money :-\
  15. isnt that a turbo engine? Isnt that called turbo lag? What year? Non turbo, turbo? Year? Mileage? but definitly replace little things, like spark plugs, oil, air filter for sure , and fuel filter, if all those check out, maybe u should reset the ECU.( or wait reset the ECU first lol) Acually, my legacy was sluggish and beleive it or not ,i changeed the PCV valve, and its was WAY quicker off the line, and no vibration off the engine, but ur engine runs smooth.
  16. Wow, thats alot of maintenance for a car with 30k, i would leave it till atleast 140k MILES so 200,000KM lol. Im at 289,%^&KM and oriniginal brake fluid, just got the rear diff oil changed, need to change the front oil, tranny fluid needs to be changed(only changed tranny fluid ONCE and my dealer probably did fill it up full, and it would not shift into 4th gear, but i had no evidence, 2000CDN later and i got a rebuild, and THE WARRENTY is 100,000km, i was at 100,123, AWW), rad got flushed at 260,000km when water pump was replaced, and just engine oil. And here i am today!
  17. SO recommended interneral is 100k? MILES, i did it every 100k KM not MILES so? Just wondering, if it wasnt install correctly would there be a noticable amount of loss in power? Or it just wont start?
  18. Eek!! to bad all that work and it broke worse. you check possibly? Subaru? or https://www.1stsubaruparts.com/partscat.html saw it for $190. Hope you have better luck after this repair, seems messy.
  19. You know what, i have a larger size tire on my 93 legacy, and my speedometer is perfect, i used my gps, but mine runs cable. With the sensors i guess there picky, there is probably some way to tune the speedometer, do u have a gps? Its more accurate, and helpful.
