  1. So from that pic ur saying the keyway is alright!!! IF SO HIP HIP HORRAY!!! and yes off course, i will buy a new pulley.
  2. AW!! im super PO'ed! look, heres some pics, its looks like the idiot from 2 years ago who did the timing belt did this, and he probably didnt torque it down. Ok well does it looks like the key is still alright? ANd i reinstall some new belts and the the pulley, now what about the thread, does it look right?
  3. Are u sure? It didnt fall off it just lossened and when u tighten the bolt everything is alright, just i cant seem to torque it will because there is no way to hold the pulley. U know what im talking about right, the main pulley for the alternator, power steering and etc pumps. It hasnt fallen off it just got a tiny bid lose, and it just played a little. What should i do my mom needs the car tommrow:confused:. How can i hold the pulley? so i can torque down the bolt?
  4. You mean this thing he posted here about his new toy? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63553
  5. Ok, well i figured out the knocking noise, it was the harmonic pulley(dad told me a new word) now i took out the bolt and it was super loose, and poured locktite all over it(blue locktite) and put it back in and torqued it down. 20mins later after i exit a highway and i hear it idling, it lossened again! Whats the best way to hold the pulley and torque the bolt, because when u tighten it, it turns over the engine, so u cant really torque it, got any ideas? Thanks guys, and i need help before tommorow, because my mom needs the car.
  6. OK, new update. Its fixed, i just found water sitting where the spark plugs are, blew out the water, and sprayed some contact cleaner on the spark plug wires, and the spark plug. Now when i floor it all 4 wheels turn hehe. Much better perferformance thats for sure, and now when it idles, it doesnt shiver at all, and its idling at 300-400rpms. THen i came home and i heard knocking noise, I FREAKED!! i thought a rod had broken or something. but when u accerllarate the noise was gone, so i sprayed some wd 40 around the belt area, and i think the idler was causing the noise, but my dad sprayed contact cleaner on the belts( dont as me why) and that must have created a noise as it cleans the lubricante and grease off. But boy was that a scare.
  7. Well when u shift down it helps the engine speed up then it will shift and it will like..... throw the car.
  8. I cant see there being a problem, but lets wait for another reply, i have the same question about my car, its a auto with a manual switch.
  9. Ya i resent the 4EAT not being as reliable as the 5MT, bearing and clutches can go wrong with a 5MT, and with a 4EAT just the solenoid can die, but in most cases it is just the clutch for the AWD solenoid and a tranny flush usually fixed it. Edit: fixed the clutches from sticking not a dead solenoid(torque bind)
  10. THe old trannies are great, just the failure off a solenoid for the AWD isnt great. Now between 90-94, stick to 92-94 much more reliable, and anything earlier is still reliable as it is a subaru, just there may be the odd knock sensor failure, tranny failure, u need to do the external transmission filter recal for 89-91 i believe. Now just make sure the car doesnt bind around tight turns, and be sure when u do buy one to change oil, timing belt, diff oil, tranny oil, and look at colant level, and power steering, and engine, and tranny levels. ANd 2.2l engines are great so dont be worried about engine issues. But be sure there are no serious oil leaks, i mean the odd bit off oil around the head wont hurt, but try and avoid cars like that.
  11. WOW! and i just spent 10 grand on my 93 legacy! aw!! o well, i love my baby i dont care how she looks, jsut how she drives. But i certainly got a scare when i got home, i heard a knock noise!!! AW!! i freaked, but when u accelerate the noise is gone, so then i just sprayed some WD-40 on the idler, and no noise. WOW! i freaked, because i thought it was a rod.
  12. Im back, and its different with this visor, its a metal clip, so i pulled it out and it was cracked. But i still bent it and now it doesnt hang so its all good.
  13. I would not use propane, natural gas i would think is good. Propane is to hot isnt it?
  14. Hmm, auto dim would be nice, with all the lights up my rump roast. IS the mirror OEM? Or aftermarket, and is it the same size?
  15. Yes they do look a little different like that plate covering the throttle body, and the cover over the ac and power steering.
  16. Oh, ic, i was thinking about doing the same thing then ill have auto diming, compass, outdoor, temp, tv(lol), and a mirror. But then i would have to run 12v and temp sensor through the firewall, or does it just detect the temperatrue off the glass?
  17. So i jsut need to cut it open then fix the crack like he said with the hose clamp, and some glue? THen reinsert, and it should work ,wow!
