Ok, well last time i checked my tranny, it was cold cold, and hte tranny fluid on the dip stick was like double the hot full point. So it worried me. I emptyed a little , but now it seem like it doesnt go to the full point when the tranny is hot. But when its cold. its right on full. I dont know what i should do. but ill tell u what. It shifts way better, and drives 10xxxxmore smooth. I also drained a little diff fluid as the dipp stick was double full, so it right on ful. But how do i check the fluid level? Engine on? Off? Does temp need to be super super high for the hot part of the dip stick to be at full. Like the max i drove the car was for 30mins. And when i floor it, shifts very smooth. Im just worried it might be low, and ill kill my tranny, what you think?

Thanks for the replies. Im taking my car to subaru some time this month, and they are going to verify all the serials. This is the problem, i never put any thought into how much i paid until now. And it has been over 4 months. I just felt it was fixed, and it works. But they installed the front bearing as well, and they were used. And one on the left needed to be changed, after they replaced it, and abs sensor on the same wheel was said to have been hit. But im speaking CDN dollars. The ammount with the tcu, all the seals were replaced on the tranny, 3 torque converters, TCU, umm, fluid changes, uh, thinking . . . . . . , they didnt the drive solenoid, and clutch. Now without taxes it was $2600CDN, so i dont know. Know they didnt charge us for the seals, torque converters, or the tcu, but there was alot off labour from what i see. So i dont know what to make off this. looks like a 1800 bill without the added labour. ANd the 100 for the front bearings, i wouldnt count, and i got the 700 TCU for free, and they abs sensor was a small amount. and they bearings, well, it said used bearing on the invoice. Why would they install used bearing(idiots)? Now the main fact i dont like is that this tranny isn't mine. Subaru here will find out if this TCU or Tranny is the right one. Ill show some pics.

It binds, lol No, it doesn't bind, but it some times does, only in forward when parking, not serious, just minor. But it seems to do it, once the tranny is hot. So i looked at the dipstick, in the morning when the tranny was cool. And it was past the full mark at hot!!! So i drained a little, but its still way to overfilled. Um, now shifting, shifting is alright, i would say normal. 1,2 u feel, and 3 and 4 are smooth. Now about the tranny fluid being way to overfilled, and the diff fluid was way past the full mark. So im guessing this could cause some issues. You think i should go to subaru and get the front difff fluid changed and change the tranny fluid, to synth oil?

Hmm, well how do i do that? All i know is the model plate on the shock strut doesnt match the one on the tranny. So that means its a different tranny correct? IM the only owner. I had the car 13 years. No, no tranny work before. But the tranny was alot more greesy from rust proof spray on it. Now it looks like a new tranny. And the serial # doesnt match. ANd They charged me a crap load for stuff, which they never told me they were rreplacing. See what happen was the tranny has the torque bind fixed, but when u floored it, didnt want to shift. THen they holded the car for 3 weeks, and i kept calling them, but they made lame excuses. THen we see this long LONG LONG! bill, for 3000, he replaced the torque converter 4 times, because it cracked, and a crap load off other things. Then they figured it was the TCU, but before we brought it in, it shifted perfectly, when i floored it, but had torque bind. Now if they swapped the tranny, witht the wrong one, can't it create problems.

My auto trans a little while ago had the drive solenoid and clutch packs changed for AWD. But after they fixed it while ago it wouldn't shift when u floored it, it would bounce off the red line. Now they holded the car for about 3 weeks. But then they said they changed the TCU and it fixed the problem, which it did. But for some odd reason the tranny has a different serial, than the one on the shock tower in the front. Could it be they put a used tranny, and it was for a different year, and my TCU wasnt compatible, and then i had to buy the tcu? Because these bastards charged me $3000CDN with tax. WHen they oringinally quoted 1500CDN. I hate being screwed. Is there a way i could sew them? Or go back to them and say hey, you ********************* go ******* yaa. But it should match the serial its different by like 2 digits.

Well, with my legacy back in the day, when the dumasses at subaru fixed my 4th gear, they made my AWD kick in late. For some reason it would make a bang and kcik in late. So at the time subaru dealer was like total noobs and so was me and my dad. So we drove like that until the car hit 270,000km(fixed tranny at 110,000km) lol. SO they changed the trans fluid and drive solenoid and clutch packs, and now she kicks in instantaniosly. lol. Here in Canada it was a fwd car in the winter. Which sucks butty, especially when ur driving a subaru. Well now we spent some money, and shes new. So change ur tranny fluid. I would think if the clutch packs get sticky and stuff it would cause this problem. But wait. Don't young children like me drive manual's? well i dont.

I was sitting in the back off my subaru at about 130km per hour. But there is a wind noise in the trunk area, and im not hearing wind noise from the front off the vehicle. Sounds like its the window right beside me ear. ANd both sides are the same. Where could the air leak be? But it definitly sounds like its coming from the rear windows, not the door windows, the ones in the trunk area.
