Ea82 help. Motor overheated now ownt start
Not sure what that blob of metal is in the cam gear but I bet you could knock it out of there with a screw driver and hammer. Once you do that, pull the plugs and put a wrench on the crank bolt and see if you can turn it by hand. Disconnect the battery for safety. On second thought it looks deformed. I would go to jy and get a replacement.

our Cars Unique Quirks
Having older cars as daily drivers means that some things don't always get fixed right away if they can be deferred. Let me give an example. My little red sedan Ash has oddly operating heater controls. I need to press the heat button to get air to blow on the windshield. Also since the ac compressor is also used as a dehumidifier, it will engage when the heater is on and it is humid. The belt makes a high pitch screeching sound that can be heard for blocks. It startles pedestrians sometimes. What quirks does your car have?

Worse / Best / Stupidest Wrench Turning Mistake!
It was in 2006 I think. I had the ea82 out to do a reseal and timing belts. I also replaced the water pump while I was there. The Haynes manual said 40ft lb on the torque. This of course snapped the bolt. That day I learned to not trust Haynes torque figures. Luckily the broken bolt was proud of the block and I was able to get it out with vise grips.

How do you work under your car?

If you need seals, Oreilys sells a grab bag of these for about five bucks.- We Post Our Grievances Here
A screw to hold the rotor???? REALLY??- What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Ash got a new windshield today.- A wife without a clue
Pictures are good too. Great way to capture how things are before you take them off.- 84 Subaru GL Value

I gently squeeze the hose to help force the air out.- A wife without a clue
My only advice is take it slow and steady. It is costlier to do it over again than it is doing it right he first time. Also ask many questions and take picture for us as well. I have discovered that if you use something like masking tape such that when you disconnect a hose or electrical connector, write down the step number of the dis-assembly. Then putting it back together is simply a matter of counting the steps in reverse.- A wife without a clue
That is the way to pull yourself up by your boot straps! In your dining room no less! I feel like such a wimp using an engine crane and stand. What engine was it?- It took me to long to get a Subaru... Now I want a new one and the dont make them?

You confused me there, which damn roos are you talking about? The ones driving or the two legged ones getting hit with the ones being driven.- Who is going to WCSS17?
Won't be going. Someone who I had hired to help with a job on my house bailed. I am doing that myself.- 93 loyale power locks went kapoot?
Will you be at WCSS this weekend?- 93 loyale power locks went kapoot?
You can remove the door panel, two screw in armrest, pop off lock latch housing and then the whole door panel pops off. The switch will be attached to the control arms that are moved when the key is turned. i do not remember exactly where it is mounted in the door, but if you follow the control rods, you will find it. While you are there it would be a good time to grease the window tracks too.- 93 loyale power locks went kapoot?
You cannot prove a fuse is good by visual alone. However you can verify it with some deduction and fuse swapping. Your washer/ wiper uses a 20 A fuse. If your washer/wipers works, then swap the door lock fuse into the washer wiper and see if the washer wiper still works. If it does, the fuse is good, if not it is bad. Trust me a visual inspection alone doesn't prove it is good. Many hours may be wasted relying on the visual test of fuses. Ask me how I know.- 93 loyale power locks went kapoot?
If it isn't the fuse, the it is either the switch or the wiring from the switch to the actuators. Have you looked at the switch? - Need an expert
