  1. Yep it happens. My 87 wag is just sitting in the yard with nearly no rust and I noticed a few weeks ago that the windshield was cracked all the way across. No worries. Windshields do that sometimes.
  2. look around and find out where the oil is coming from. should be easy with that much smoke.
  3. That's funny GD said that was a tough sale, which is true... but I've been looking for an EA81 2wd 5spd coupe. But I'm clear across the country.
  4. That is SICK. I think silver wheels with, say... gold lug nuts, gold center cap, and gold beauty ring would look totally pimptastic.
  5. Why does that thing say EA82 on it? Oh wait... it's the trashwagon.
  6. Yeah why the hell is this ************ not ************ing closed? Get the ************ over it. Just because he's not quite as "stable" as some of us are doesn't give us the right to point and make fun. Grow up a little people.
  7. oh yeah speaking of Rod Run... I got stuck in that freakin traffic. It SUCKED. BIG TIME. Anyway... wow, a hyubusa engine would... launch that thing in the air probably. I bet they have a HORRIBLE ride. I jumped up on the back of it and the dang thing didn't budge but an inch.
  8. We have one of those right here in Morristown. About 10 miles from here... it's for sale too. $4500 is an awful lot for a radio flyer with a motor though...
  9. wow... does this thing suffer from cancer? Unibody failure is a scary thing to think about... I'm gonna go find my mommy now.
  10. Great looking rack on a great looking car. I need to get one of those racks for my sedan. It sucks not having anything on the roof... really handy to have a basket/rack. I think the next thing on the list is a 3" lift and some 15" pugs right?
  11. In my EA82, it vibrates enough to cause the linkage to rattle... probably not a good thing. but mine is bad enough to make alot of noise... does yours make noise?
  12. I've only put 15,000 on my sedan so far, but other than a pretty crazy ride to Atlanta and back (overheating, engine sounding like fireworks cuz the timing was at 28 deg) it's been very reliable. Even the 5 or 6 massive overheats the day i took the trip to Georgia didn't kill the headgaskets. 210,000 miles. Regardless, it got headgaskets. But I love the thing to death and it loves me so... all is well in my subie world.
  13. Thank goodness it wasn't siezed up... probably because that corner of the car was caked up in grease because eveytime that axle started clicking I would just crawl under there with a handful of grease and slap it in the axle cup and call it good.
  14. Yeah, that's why I didn't try that to begin with... I didn't know how much pounding it could take. Well, new ball joints in order for me.
  15. I got stuck on an unmantained road in Missouri Valley Iowa once... you shoulda seen the look on the farmer's face when he saw TN tags. "You're from TN and your stuck in the middle of a field in Iowa? In a station wagon? Son... what are you doing out here?" hahaha... man, what a road trip that was.
  16. I've already taken everything apart and need to remove the ball joint but it's being quite contrary. I can't put the nut back on cuz it's too flugged up. I've removed that little bolt that clamps it's housing (or whatever that thing is) shut. I've pried and pried, but it's not moving. I think I was supposed to leave the bearing housing in the car to do it... but it's too late now. I've been trying to grab it with channel locks to pull it out but that doesn't work either. What should I do? I need the car for tomorrow so it's kinda urgent. Thanks guys.
  17. I got a $500 T-wag too. I'm waiting for something to happen... haha. T-wags are AWESOME!!!! :burnout:
  18. Yeah that thing looks great. I think an 88' lifted wagon would be SWEET. Nothing catches more attention than a station wagon with a foot of clearance sitting on muddies. I'm waiting for the perfect d/r EA82 wagon to lift. You should definitely go for it. There's no maybe to it, someday you'll be part of the old-gen again.
  19. Nope, that's supposed to be straight. You musta REALLY been having a ball to bend it that bad.
  20. pegged the tac when the throttle cable got stuck on the linkage while I was standing outside of it revving. blew a coolant line to the carb. the line needed replaced anyway.
  21. Well, it could be intake manifold gaskets. Try spraying brake cleaner around the intake manifold gaskets and see if the engine changes idle speed. If it does then obviously they need to be replaced. And I know more than just a couple mechanics that just can't get their head wraped around a boxer 4. They just don't get it.
  22. obviously I know that's not what the noise is... but when I'm accelerating, I hear *clackity clackity clack* under my hood. Only happens when it's warmed up. A mechanic at work rode with me and heard it and took a look at my oil pressure. Then he said... "sounds like your timing is too advance." And then he told me it wasn't all that great for the engine. So now I'm wondering why I can't get the timing right on 20 deg. It's either 25 or 15. Or somewhere around there. Apparently there's a tooth on the disty I'm missing. So is it better to just run it at 15 or 25? it runs like crap at 15, runs ok at 25. but whatever's best for the engine, that's what I'll run it at.
  23. not to burst your bubble or anything, but we regularly pick up hay in the trunk of our camry. Not on top though.
  24. Yeah, you're out there where Subies last forever. Good luck with her, she should be around for a while. I'm sure you know that by now though, you've put that thing through it's paces already.
  25. Oooohhh.... well, great nieces and nephews it is then!! Hopefully I can figure out why my sedan is running like crap (funny, it starts acting up the day I get another car) and it'll be around just as long.
