  1. On a car that new, any reputable dealer will have an aftermarket warranty available; the cost of which can be written into the loan/purchase price. Just be sure the level of coverage you choose covers head gaskets.
  2. yup, they sure did. I got mine off my 2wd GL-10 Turbo. http://usmb.net/albums/albuo11/subaru_002.jpg
  3. All of the engines aren't quite the same, some of the wiring and stuff is a little different, and 85-86 have some differences from the later ones, but a turbo from a 90 and an 87 should interchange just fine.
  4. I have to disagree with Josh. I have found the First Gen Legacy LSi to be pretty rare.. I have found this through actually trying to find one. they are a bit more common 95 and later. The LSi is the top of the line.. leather and all that jazz. But for all that, it is still just a difference in trim package.
  5. oops, looks like I had it backwards. Heres svxperts post http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8458
  6. I think it depends on where the car came from. Someone recently posted info and pics that said the N/A spider had an EGR and the Turbo spider did not. However, just last week I was confronted with a Turbo Sider that did have an EGR.... And to confuse matters, my last turbo was a california car and it did not have an EGR. XSNRG still has the manifold.. no EGR on the manifold, I am still using the engine.. no place for an EGR pipe on the head. I think the CA cars had a little different computer setup or something.
  7. We don't allow people form Bonney Lake on this board. Just Kidding. You have some pretty good resources up in your area.. I can think of 3 people right away that live in Bonney Lake/Sumner.
  8. Unless its really really severe, I wouldn't worry about it blowing up on you. I drove mine from seattle to dallas.. I have had this engine in 2 cars over the past 2 years and it still ticks.. no problems, just annoying.. sometimes it will take a few treatments(ATF, MMO, whatever you use) to get rid of the tick if its due to clogged/dirty lifters.. sometimes doing an oil pump reseal/replacement will do the trick Good luck Welcome to the board
  9. I Love seeing that pic. Unfortunately, most of the labeled items aren't really visible.. even on my 21 inch monitor
  10. I would be very interested in seeing how you had that plumbed.. would also be interested in taking that bypass valve off your hands if you aren't going to be using it . I have always liked the sound of a wookie in pain:D
  11. yup.. cute little place with a race track, some pumpkin patches and a couple casinos JRGaylor.. looking at that pic, I would say some good tires would have improved your chances of getting unstuck quite a bit.. the tires in the pic look small and bald(the tread area is shiny:D).. bad combo for wheelin.. never stopped me though.. getting stuck is half the fun:D
  12. couple of feet of pipe over the breaker and stand on it.. Always works for me. Good luck PS.. I am assuming you don't have access to an impact wrench
  13. You're welcome sweetie:cool: Maybe try this one. http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8473
  14. Check here.. http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/search.php?s= Theres tons of info about them.
  15. Perhaps it belongs with the 3500 year old hub cap from the other post....
  16. OMG! QUIT YELLING! Most of the people I have seen doing 5 lug swaps are usually pleased by the drop in ride height. I don't know of anyone trying to raise the car back up
  17. I don't think 87 is an odd year. My 87 Dash(and my last 87 dash) looks just like my 88 Digidash did. Connections, as far as I can remember from my 88 appear to be the same as well. To do the swap from 86 to 87, you will need, at minimum, FSM for both cars, some wire cutters and lost of electrical tape, solder and shrink wrap.
  18. Too cool! I have been looking for a hub cap for my 1503 B.C GL10 Bronze edition. That one looks like a 1504 B.C. model.. anyone know if they will interchange?
  19. The sludge in the oil is not a good sign.. blown head gasket maybe....Tell you what.. you just leave the car there.. send me the keys and the title and I'll take care of it. Hope for the best.. expect the worst Good luck
  20. drop, or remove the steering column.. I undid the bolts that hold it up, that gave a few inches of play to wiggle the pedal box out. and when installing the pedal box, I found that is was extremely helpful to have someone standing over me spotting hangups that can't be seen while upsidedown and backwards under the dash.. make sure you have a spring to use for the clutch return if you aren't installing the hillholder assembly.
  21. not hard. Provided both cars are 2wd, its a straight bolt in type of thing. Oh yeah.. enjoy doing the pedal assembly:D
  22. PCV Most likely, there was a recall or TSB about that on the 90 or so loyales, but I have found it applies to a lot of different EA82 cars
  23. In addition, Make sure the starter has been pulled. I know that sounds a little obvious, but it has been missed by others.
