Sell yours and buy mine. It already has the 5 lug, RX kit, Coilovers and WRX wheels. And a bunch of other crap(I'm sure theres a mod list around here somewhere). Plus an EA82T that pukes oil from an unknown place (I haven't really looked at it yet to determine whats up)

No need to rub it in.

Man, I can't believe I missed this one the first time through. Just because I'm sure no one has ever seen this picture. -

Thats often true. But there is a huge pile of existing information there. Some work with the search button should net you enough information that you should never have to actually : shudder : interact with them.
-
That does hold true somewhat. The fact of the matter is however, that this guy is looking for tech info for a WRX. There is some here, but there is A LOT there. Many different complete builds to look at and/or emulate. We have what? 20 WRX owners active on the USMB? Our primary strength is old school. OP - California eh? Good luck hitting 300 at the wheels while still passing smog. Be prepared to put it back to stock every year for inspection

I think I have blown every part of an EA82T up except the head gaskets. -
Just when things where going smoothly
calebz replied to Tosh's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Sorry, This probably isn't much help -
If you are only looking for the 275-300 range, start with a WRX and go for some bolt ons and EM. And yes, many STi parts do fit the WRX. http://www.nasioc.com is a good place for tech info, swap info and newer gen parts sales.
-
It really depends on how far you intend to go. If you want piss your pants horsepower, it doesn't really matter which platform you start with. Either one will require gutting and rebuilding. If you are looking for the 250 - 300 range, just start with the wrx and do a few bolt ons ( and EM too)

It is against federal law for Junkyards to sell used cats. -
I stopped here - Is it turbo or SPFI?
-
IIRC - 87 and 88 are the same - and I have the pinouts for 88. That leaves you to come up with the pinouts for 90. Gonna bet they are the same. Another way of looking into it would be to call the dealership and get the pat numbers for the ECUs of both years. - Matching part number would also lead me to believe that the wiring is the same.

I found a XT Turbo - Need Parts?
calebz replied to opelsuby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If its a spider intake type, I need some pullies and brackets and such. -
Any EA82T model. SPFI uses a lower volume pump.
-
For the fronts. You can use any EA82 hubs to practice with. I doubt anyone will give up the rears. Getting too hard to find for the rear disc conversion.
-
You can't go any faster. You can have slightly better throttle response though.

Suspension options: '88 RX/II
calebz replied to SmashedGlass's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Not a lot of options without spending massive$$$ A 5 lug conversion will put you in a position to have more choices for springs and front struts. Rear struts - dunno what to tell you Oh - and its only an RX/II if you are in Japan. -
Its been nearly 4 years. I hope he's gotten it fixed by now;)
-
pssst. It doesn't fit.
-
Already done.

Even using EJ parts in the front, unless there has been a new discovery I am unaware of, you still have to use the XT6 control arms ans possibly tie rod ends.
