What controls fuel pump on carb ea82?
calebz replied to bgd73's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes Do that . Easy Fix. If you step into a conversation you don't like. Step out. No need. He has people like me to handle his light work. How many intelligible questions have you asked? With Pleasure. Amen to that Ask and ye shall receive. Man I have been wanting to do this for a while. -

It will work, but you have to modify everything

Its been about 4 years since I had my Peugeot or had anything to do with the pug people. Searching for pug boards is where I would start. A few words of advice: - Do a five lug swap - If you surf the pug boards, don't let them know you are a subaru person. Many will refuse to deal with you. - If wheel adapters were commonly in use, chances are, someone would have told you EXACTLY where to get them by now.
-
The offeset and price are more of an issue for subaru than the longevity. I have used them on some old dodges and a couple of older chevies. RWD cars where offset really isn't a big deal due to the plethora of wheel styles available. There was a guy in Seattle a few years ago that was making adapters for peugeot 505s (also 4x140). They were freakin expensive though. not to mention that most of the hard core pug guys know about our subarus and our penchant for stealing their wheels. Because of that, they have a less than kind disposition toward us. Power and abuse are the things that break adapters (that and crappy manufacturing). Old subarus make no power to speak of. So that isn't a problem. I wouldn't use them for rally/rally-x either. At least not without some spares on hand.

calebz replied to SoobGoob's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Depends on how it was orderd. You could get a GL with almost everything that a GL10 came with. -
Truest thing you have ever posted.

EA81 compression, custom pistons, how much?
calebz replied to Phizinza's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
While you're at it, could you clue me in on the process you used to make the pistons? -
If by mythical you mean 'terrible to the point that a Kia has a better P/W ratio' then you would be correct.

Finding the timing for a EA82
calebz replied to Subaru_Mechanic's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Cotton ball in #1 spark plug hole. (just up top). Turn the motor over by hand, when the cotton ball poofs, point the disty rotor in the general direction of where the #1 spark plug wire goes on. Start the car and adjust. -
easiest way to remove clutch fan EA82
calebz replied to idosubaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
+1 With my aftermarket radiator, there is almost no room to between it and the fan. Long racheting wrench is the only way to go. -
you guys like tricked out brats? (pics)

Way to go. Telling one of the longest lived mods on the board to stop posting something. You will go far here. -
I was going to clean up this thread. But I don't even know where to start:confused:
-
Why not? There are a few guys on NASIOC running MS on various EJ motors. The newer revisions of MS are even more capable of doing it. Is your EJ swap based on some sort of anti-MS voodoo?

Anybody ever cut this thing off?
calebz replied to BushmasterSI's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yup, just a splash guard. I usually bend it up out of the way, then bend it back when I'm done. -

Compare part numbers. If they match, you're good to go. -
He won't mind. He's been dead for about 10 years. We blame him for everything since he never fights back:grin:

No, it is to give you better odds by being less screwed
