  1. Personally, I would run 2 electrics. One on a switch (thermal or manual) and one on all the time.. But its hot here and I drive a turbo car:-p
  2. Holy carp! Another Subaru in North Texas? After looking at a spare waterpump, I don't think the housing looks very condusive to taking a thread? Just out of curiousity, why would you want to?
  3. I started with an EA82 intake plenum.. I was really sick for a few days, so I wasn't getting around much.. I did all that by hand with a file and sand paper.. That pic was taken before completion. It looks a little better now. since I doubt I'll ever use it again, been thinking of cutting the top off and hanging it in the garage:-p
  4. Clayton, the Fuel Pressure regulator doesn't regulate at a straight 36 psi. The regulator is setup to deliver a steady 36(point something) PSI above manifold pressure. ergo, at 10 psi of boost, you should be seeing 46psi at the injectors
  5. Depends on what you are referring to EA81 Turbo Cars - 1983-1984 EA82 Turbo cars - 1985 to 1991 Legacy Turbo cars 1991-1994, 2005 Impreza tubo cars 2002-Present ( in the form or WRX and STi)
  6. Its hit or miss as the whether the carb cars comae with O2 sensors. Your Y pipe may have 'subaru' engraved on it. That just means it came from a car that didn't come with an O2 sensor. As to whether you are supposed to have one or not. As far as I know, common rule of thumb is, if its carb'd and has an O2 sensor, it has an ECU as well.. Does your car have an ECU?
  7. I wouldn't say its easy, but its definitely doable if you want it bad enough. Remember that if you use an EA82T in place of an EA71, you will need the whole ECU/wiring harness setup that goes with it.
  8. I know this isn't exactly what you were asking for, but its kinda relevant.. This is an intake plenum I had on my car a while back. I smoothed off the rough edges and thought it was much more appealing that way
  9. I have owned 5 87-88 GL-10s now My white wagon is the only one with the rear swaybar so far. I have checked 4-5 more.. same result
  10. For any 88+ EA82 parts from the parts store, the only way I have managed to get the right part every time is to tell them its a 90 loyale. If its for an EA81 car I always tell them its an 84 wagon. Has worked every time for me.
  11. I agree.. I have only seen one GL-10 with the rear bar as well.. Thankfully, I happen to own that one:D Use the RX trailing arms and it becomes a bolt on accessory
  12. If you want disc brakes, you get the stuff from a turbo car if your car is 4wd, get the stuff from a 4wd car if your car is 2wd, get the stuff from a 2wd car Yes, there are 2wd turbo XTs, sedans, and wagons.. probably coupes as well, but I have never seen one.
  13. Welcome to the board. your car isn't a legacy.. Our legacy is your Liberty;) If you are getting warm air from any of the vents, Its safe to say that the actual heating process is working fine. If you are having vent troubles, the first place I would check is the vacuum canister on the passenger side firewall. Its a little white thing that holds vacuum and one of its purposes is to work the vacuum controlled vents.
  14. Just replaced tha O2 sensor in my wagon a few days ago. 17.99 from autozone for the one wire bosch universal. took less than 10 minutes to install, but access is easier with the WRX exhaust;)
  15. Mine only kicks on when the AC or defrost is on.
  16. Maybe, but I would still hunt down the problem or put an aftermarket gauge on there to be sure. Stock gauges suck:-p
  17. Mine 'appears' to overheat when I have the heat on. Or more precisely, when the blower motor is cranked up. Its been a common issue on a few of my subarus now. Its more of a ground problem than a cooling problem. I installed an aftermarket temp gauge and a 2 core radiator and all is well.. Stock gauge still shoots off the charts when I crank the heat up though.
  18. Only if it has an ECU:) Honestly, I would be that most of us wouldn't have a clue if your car had the capability to store codes. Common rule for carb'd cars in the states is 'if it has an O2 sensor it has an ECU" That may or may not be true for EDM cars. Look under your dash by the steering column. If you have an ECU, thats where it will be.
  19. Thats not so much of an issue with ea82 cars. I'm using an NA shortblock with turbo heads and a TD04 from a WRX.. no explosions yet:D I've also done the NA to turbo conversion on a volvo 740.. I can honestly say the NA volvo motor really LIKES the turbo..lol
  20. Mine smoked like hell for the first day or so after the rebuild.. But I had left the block sitting with some p-oil sitting in the combution chambers.. forgot to blow it out before I out the heads on..eeewww.. that stank.
  21. Yup.. XTs.. I think some 87 + Heres a pic of the one waiting in my garage.
  22. Yup. They may vary in thickness, but are interchangeable.. Only ones that don't swap directly in are turbo axles.. different DOJ end spline count.
  23. I have been having that problem ever since I went to the TD04. Part throttle, stumbling starts at 1-2in/hg and goes to 3-5psi. If I just nail it and go WOT, it doesn't happen.
