  1. If you plan on adding a turbo, you might want to consider a better fuel delivery system. One injector, while doable, is not really optimal delivery for a forced induction motor.
  2. Made by OBX. For a CRX. less than $10 shipped on ebay
  3. Steve, I wouldn't rely on the PVC too much.. I have a little bit of it on my wagon for IC piping and I can tell you man.. It does not like to stay round when exposed to underhood temps:lol:
  4. Mine did that. Gave me an excuse to use carbon steel inserts in the block. They felt much better than torquing on stock aluminum threads.
  5. Most aftermarket radios are deeper than stock too. So you may be able to get an aftermrket face plate and cut it to fit the double din size of the new stereo. Or if you are andy and creative, you could build your own faceplate extender thingy. Electryc_Monk has a newer subaru stereo in his 87 wagon.. maybe he would have some tips for you.
  6. yup.. sorry, my mistake. forgot the Carb doesn't have the filter under the hood.
  7. As rob said, the 86 is orange and the 87+ is green. I'm sure you could change them, but be prepared with FSMs for both cars. You will have some rewiring to do.
  8. Fuel filter is the big round thing right by the driver side strut tower with the hose sticking out of the front. And yes, it is the 'main' filter.
  9. Not on an EA82.. just slap on a new timing belt.. Besides, if you maintain it, its not likely to ever be a problem.. 6 EA82s and I haven't broken one yet;)
  10. Timing belts are hardly an aggravation..Just simple maintenance. What record are you referring to that isn't so great?
  11. Loyale RS Front airdam and wing, PB 4wd, some turbo, some SPFI
  12. Should be 3 wires on the stick for the pushbutton. 1 power in, 2 power out. Those run to the hot side of the solenoids, then just ground the black wires off the solenoids and you're good to go.
  13. Fuel filter is on the driver side strut tower, just in front of the firewall.. Dunno where the PCV on a carb motor is though.
  14. I think the one I bought from Radiator.com was a CSF as well.
  15. Also keep in mind that larger discs may put you in a position that you need to upgrade your wheels. But that depends on the size of the wheels you have on there now (don't know what the TS comes with)
  16. If you are simply referring to the motor (EA82) There isn't really a lot of difference from 85-94 There are 3 differen fuel systems: Carb - 85-87 MPFI/turbo - 85-91 (with Vane MAF 85-86 and hotwire 87-91) SPFI 86-94 There are also different genrations of heads (my knowledge here is only turbo specific) Aside from that, they are pretty much the same. My favorite thus far is my 87. Hotwire MPFI turbo. WRX IC. TD04 Turbo. Carb block (9.0:1 CR) And a whole bunch of other suspension/other stuff:D
  17. If you are referring to a complete coilover/strut conversion, thats not really available outside of custom stuff for all 4 corneres of an L series (afaik) however, one could put adjustable coilover springs on stock type struts and be OK. Has worked fairly well for me thus far.
  18. This is just a guess, but i would bet that proper tapering of the holes + proper torque on tapered/acor type lug nuts would deal with your problem effectively. I have run three different sets of nonsoob rims on my wagon in the past year, none of which have the same center diameter as stock, and have had no problems with studs rubbing/shearing/loose in the holes.
  19. Some of the GL-10s came with it as well (mine did).. Not sure about the adjustment specs. Never used it.
  20. Do a search, try again if you have any specific questions.
  21. 1- If you and your friend are both reasonably strong, the motor is easily removable by 2 people. 2- OEM subaru is the way to go 3- This realy depends on how far you want to go and how much you want to spend. I spent about $200 and got a complete gasket kit from a board member that worked at a dealership. It had every gasket I needed (and a few I didn't)
  22. Nope.. That was probably Russ, after he broke his offroad.. Mine is pavement only and I'm quite fond of it. When I moved a couple weeks ago, my wagon saw double duty as a truck. Stiff springs, adjusted all the way up = pretty damn good hauling capacity. Now that I have dealt with the offset/ tire rubbing problems, I personally think my setup kicks rump roast:D
  23. European Domestic Market - L series (Loyales/Leone/GL) As for the XT6, will have to rely on the words of others for that.. Not an XT6 fan, so no clue:-p
  24. EDM L series had headlight washers, but we didn't get them in the US:(
