I'm assuming you are using a granger valve then? Having used both, I like my ball and spring type better.. Just based on my experience

Sorry dude.. I really don't think theres any way you are going to get 18s on a brat without it looking like nasty old rice.. Tex did it on his RX, and it overstepped the bouds of taste.. just a little.. And EA71/EA81 cars have even smaller wheelwells.. Just my .02

On the other hand, they can be had from junkyards for around $35.. when they can be found.

Dammit clayton! Leave us cheapskates alone!! I already told you onece today.. back in your cage

Its probably better to get an IC first, but I actually did the boost controller about 2 weeks before the IC.. with the IC you can run more boost. Boost controoler takes about 10 minutes to install.. its not car specific One important thing that I forgot to put on the list above.. boost gauge!! One thing I cannot stress enough. If you are going to mod you motor, get it in tip top stock condition first.

Manual Boost controller - ~$25 on ebay -~$10 DIY Cone filter - $25 Autozone Aluminum MAF adapter - $15.99 autozone Various little crap to make it all work - ~$20 Theres a thread from within the past 24 hours that documents one users luch getting a cone filter and adapter off ebay for atoud $20 The filter sounds to be better quality than mine and the adapter is plastic. Pic 2 Hood scoop- $30 on ebay (unpainted) Only fabrication that had to be done was welding a small tube onto one of the IC pipes for the Recirc valve. Also had to drill out the end of the little pastic silencer on the MAF hose to plumb the recirc valve. Also, effective hood scoop usage requires cutting a hole in the hood. mine looks like this http://usmb.net/albums/albuo11/things_008.jpg All prices listed are estimates .. YMMV.. being the cheapskate that I am you can damn well bet I didn't pay that much

Nice. a couple of questions.. Is the scoop wider than the hump? Is there an intercooler under that scoop?

either the rear diff has the wrong cover plate or you have one extremely unhappy center diff.. FT4WD 5 speeds didn't even come in 3.90 form... and rear end should match the trans, ir there will be issues.. I'm not exactly sure how it would feel with the FT4WD if the diff was mismatched. But you would know it immediately if you were to drive, in a straight line on dry pavement with the diff locked...you would end up with mad binding..I hope for your sake you just have the wrong cover plate on the diff or something. Nice job on saving it from the crusher though:)

will EA81 pistons work in an EA82 or ER27?
calebz replied to idosubaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
SubaruBrat has forged pistons (I think) in the ER27 in his brat.. wonder where he got them.. -
clean the PCS contacts, or more likely, replace it I ususally go to the junkyard and buy a handful of them for $1.50 or so each.. Usually about one out of 5 of them are good.

Probably not going to have a whole lot of luck with that.. he is currently without regular internet access. I talk to him a couple times a week though and would be happy to pass on any questions you may have.. I may even be able to answer them myself... -

My accell lasted about 10 months.. From the time it started having problems to the time it died was about 2 hours drive time... When I pulled it out, I noticed the coil wire was all puffed up from oil leaking from the top of the coil, down the wire and into the dizzy cap.
