Blow off valve is not necessary if you are running stock boost. Theres a neat little thing called a dash pot built into your intake.. stops the throttle plate from slamming shut and backing airflow up into the compressor. Heres a pic of how mine is plumbed

87+ are different

I don't think there would be a whole lot of advantage in using the turbo ams on an NA motor.. They aren't really 'bigger' or ' more powerful' , they are simply ground for minimal valve overlap as is appropriate for a turbo motor. If youj want better cams, look up delta cams in Tacoma. Also, the wording of your post suggests that one must replace cams while replacing a cracked head. That is not the case. The cams are in their own self contained cam case seperate from the head.

Possibly air suspension cintrols? On the sedans and wagons, the air suspension controls are under the driver seat.. dunno about on the xt.. I do know that on the xt, the fuel and ignition relays are under the dash though.

Fuel pump relay is under the dash just above the stock ECU.. there is a pair if relays.. one is fuel pump, one is ignition.

I have a lot more old jokes to throw at you before I make it back up.. I always figured its a lot safer to make fun of someone from 2500 miles away Seriously though.. I plan on coming home for thanksgiving if at all possible. so if all goes well, I will be in puyallup, tacoma or olympia for the week.. -

You couldn't be Rob's grandma.. No one is that old Welcome back, don't sweat the small stuff Signed, Your friendly neightborhood backyard mechanic -
XT6 is not 4 on 140.. it shares the 5 lug pattern with the legacy and impreza If its 4x140, itsa plain old XT.. 99% chance of being 13s as 14 inch 4x140s are veeeerrrryyy rare in the US.. Unless one uses peugeot wheels.

Recommendations On Building 9+CR EA82T?
calebz replied to NorthWet's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I am in the middle of an 8.5:1 Turbo build.. hoping to finish tonight or tomorrow.only thing the block is missing thus far is the PCV hole.. The boss is there, but not drilled thourgh. I suppose if you wanted o get real enterprising, you could drill it out, but I don't plan to. I know if 2 others running 8.5:1 turbos(carb block) only 9.5:1 turbo (SPFI block) I have seen went kaput -
Somehow I just don't think any car that will go 200k + can be considered a lemon.. On that note, fuel filters fuel filters and fuel filters... from there, go with basic tune up stuff.. report back

You know you need a better Subaru dealer when...
calebz replied to Turtle's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I can't complain too much.. When the original debate came up about the different compressions in the EA82s, I called the local dealership.. I asked what made up the difference.. whethere it was the head or the pistons.. he said he didn't know, but he called the special SOA dealer hotline and got the info on each one.. what makes the CR different and the part numbers.. On the flip side, he said it was probably a bad idea to actually have them work on my car as none of them had ever worked on one.. but at least he was nice about it ..and the parts guys always find what I need, just not at a price I can pay. -
92 loyale Body beat to hell #3 cylinder borked You won't get enough to pay for the lift kit. Edit.. just noticed it has an EJ22T.. you might get enough to pay for the lift

Settled with the insurance Co.
calebz replied to nutt7's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yup.. that what I did.. they gave me around $2400 for the 88 gl-10 and I bought it back for $25.. tires were only 2-3 weeks old -
That is one of the funniest things I have ever heard.. I thought I had seen every possible complaint about an old soob.. I have yet to see one that was too quick.. especially a brat.

Curious About the ea82 turbo
calebz replied to DaGodfada's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
A quick search will yield more detail, but heres the basics. You will need to replace: wiring harness crossmember exhaust system End result, since you practically have to have a complete turbo donor car, it would probably be easier to go buy a new car... Subarustyles recently successfully completed the swap you are considering.. I'm sure he can shed some more light on it. -
Possible sterring suggestion would be an XT rack.. I believe they are a touch quicker than the wagon rack. Also, since you have both the RS and the GL-10 now, do me a favor and measure the distance between the front struts please.. possible fitment of an Impreza front strut brace on a GL interests me.. but I don't have an Impreza here to measure.

its an easy swap.. I would be happy to help.. be warned though. using loyale suspension on your XT will make it sit high. DFW is a big place.. can you be a little more specific about your whereabouts?
