    If your going to go through the trouble to repack the bearings, you might as well just replace them. They are cheap enough to do so. Just my .02

    could he have installed the fuel filter backwards? they usually have "FLOW" with a direction on em, probably there for a reason

    Without the cats you would probably pick up quite a few ponies considering there are restrictions such as the pipe getting smaller at the cat to about 1.5"

    Sounds like the computer is having a hard time going into closed-loop.. Might check out the o2 sensor? Are you getting any codes?
