soobmater replied to Indrid cold's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Ya i agree, racks make any wagon look pretty cool. i know what you mean about more lights LOL. I'm pretty sure mine is made out of 1 inch square tube, i honestly aint sure, mudrat made it. but it is very very sturdy. -

Project Cheap:Build Lifted 86' GL Sedan Advice + Build

nice work, it looks neat the way you mounted the tire on the roof bars. i like the front brushguard ish bumper. looks mean. nice work!! -
well, it wasnt fun. uhh, its perfect now, except the little storage compartment under the carpet. were i keep a handsaw and a few other things. it still stinks under there. its getting better, but it smells like rot, and thats not good :/ but o well. i had a broken arm when i shought the deer, so i wasn't going to throw it up on the roof rack. to stay on topic, if you havnt picked anything out yet, a forester seems like the way to go for you. at least, imo

now thats what i like to hear, damnit i want my super swampers! -
what do you like about your suby?
soobmater replied to Buddy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
my dad's 2001 chevy's rear diff sits a little above 8inches from the ground! mine sits 13.. thats about 4.5 inches higher, but, we don't have nearly as much articulation and downtravle as the solid axled rigs. but you HAVE to love the ground clearance, makes clearing ruts very very nice. -
amen to that, at least its the dirtyist i've did.dam x-member thats covered in oil and those dam back bolts. that is, without jacking the motor up also
-
check this out, a ea82 motor like mine will get you 80-90 horsepower. now, im not sure on a ea82T, but im sure its not a hole lot more. now, a ej22T would get you a lot more, dam near double the ea82's performance. but ej20T for the kill man, way way more power!!!
-
its mudisfun's car, he was at wcss7 lol here is his profile http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/member.php?u=8346
-
looks cool. looks great actually, also, it will sit even higher with the 27's. like if you are running 185/70/13's right now, those measure at 23.2, and 27's. thats 3.8 inches taller than the 13's. so there is dam near another 3 inches taller it will be. so, keep us updated, looks sick right now
-
dont put a ea82 in a 2.5 rs. that would be uber under powered! if you want a turbo, go with a ej20T or something of the sort.
-
dam dude, looks great!!! it looks hella tall. What size tires you running?

Just wanted to say hello.

YAY!! lights!! lol, nice looking wagon ya got there, welcome aboard. were did you get that light bar, i have never seen one like that before, im sure other people would be interested in one. -
uhh, well how about just a strong sturdy bumper? with maybe some kind of skid plate on it? i dont know about you, but i drive frontwards not in reverse, so a front brush guard would suit me better than a rear one. although im getting a rear bumper first, thats not the point. if i were you, look into some nice bumpers.im getting mine from tony, TWB.. very good prices, cool guy to.
