O2 sensor install help on my 90 Loyale
Scrub2k replied to ilogan's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I Havent Done it on a Soob yet but As long as you have the Right Socket for the O2 Sensor its pretty simple, somtimes you need some Penetrating Oil to get it out, or Heat but either way its pretty simple. -

Lithia Subaru had a Wrecked 2004 STi You could go and buy that off of them and transplant that engine into the GL, probably alot of work but it would be well worth it -

Well i have never seen the car run, i got it for Free, and am now trying to get it to run so i have a second car to drive. how do i check to see if the timing belt is correct?

Well im not sure how to Lower the Specific CO Percentage but An Oil Change Normally helps and make sure that the Engine is At Running Temp When its Tested -
Anyone Have a Carfax account and can run a the Vin from my DL for me???? JF2AN52B3JD453056 If anyone can run it it would be Greatly Appriciated. Thanks

Ok i finally got around to making a key for this DL that ive got now, and i tried to start it and it turns over and eveything fine but it wont start, it sounds like its just spinning the motor, with no compression or anything but i pulled off the distributor cap and the rotor is still spinning and i pulled of the passenger side T-Belt cover and the belt is still intact and spinning, so i dont think its the Timing Belts. Any Ideas on what it could be??? PS: I even tried a little bit of Starting Fluid to see if it would fire up at all, and still nothing. Edit: BTW its a 88 DL Wagon Spfi

Well see i learn soemthing new everyday

Well if you talking about Removing the Driveshaft that Runs the Rear Wheels you cant do that, you need that drive shaft in the transmission, once you pull that out of the tranny you will lose all the Oil in the Transmission. If you are talking about taking out the front Axle and running in rear wheel drive, then yes that can be done and has been done many times as a temp solution. -Matt-

So i Take it that its not just an Easy One Weekend Swap Kinda Thing?
-
Well first off yea your probably gonna have to tear everything out and clean it all, but some stuff like Febreeze(sp?) give it a good spray down and then open the car up and place a Big Fan to just blow through the whole car and air it out, i know there are some products like febreze that work better or what not, but thats the best that i can come up with. -Matt-

Ok i just came accross an 88 DL Spfi PB 4wd im not sure if it runs or not yet, but im thinking about swapping the EA82T from my GL-10 into the DL, i would have both cars at my fingertips, how hard would it be to make it work? i know that i would have to change the following: Motor(Obviously) ECU Wiring Harness? I would just be using the Tranny Out of the Dl anyways so im not worried about that. Anything else that im forgetting? Thanks -Matt-

Shifting into First....GRIND!!!!
Scrub2k replied to XTreme's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Im Gonna Hafta Go with caleb on this one there is really no reason to be shifting into first while your still rolling, just wait till your stopped before you put it in to first, if your still rolling at all you can use second.....i doubt that there is any thing wrong -
There is Someone here in town with a Supercharged ea82 MPFI i talked to him one night at the street races, he used a centrifical Blower for a 2.3L Ford, I forgot to tell him about the board and i keep looking for him so i can get some pics.

I Think that you can use the SPFI ecu, everything else should just be a direct swap.

rear wiper bulb replacement??????
Scrub2k replied to N8NQU's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I Think that it is a LED, and its wired in, if you bought a new LED from radio shack or something, then you would just have to wire it in place. -
