  1. The bushings may be an issue, but your specific issue is the centering spring is not there. You can see it in this pic http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/jointcustom/DCP_4183.JPG I believe there is a thread in the reviews forum on www.bbs.legacycentral.org that is titled "(correct part #) appreciation thread" I don't recall the part #, but it's in the thread.
  2. It should work. You'll want to verify that the final drive ratio is the same. Also, are you getting the 91 legacy as a donor car, or just getting the transmission. There's a bit of little stuff that you'll need, so it'd be a good idea to get a donor car, or have a good junkyard near by.
  3. Hmm....not sure what's up with the locks. You may want to post in the meet & greet forum as well.
  4. Yeah I don't know what's up with subaru's numbers.....but yeah they just can't be wrong. You could go on legacycentral and find five people that have a 92 turbo legacy
  5. It should have a fuse. It may not be a separate fuse though. Does anything else not work? You may want to try putting a voltage meter across both sides of each fuse to verify that they are good.
  6. Walker Valley rules!! While I didn't do any sube driving up there, I did some mtn. biking, and it was a blast.
  7. My specific issue was due to an oddity on the earlier throttle bodies. They had a bypass screw/needle valve that let you adjust how much air went by the throttle plate. They stopped doing this, and therefore removing the sealant isn't as "critical"....but personally, I won't screw with it.
  8. Those numbers are no way near being correct. Check out the sticky in the misc forum on www.bbs.legacycentral.org
  9. Replace your thermostat and coolant temp sensor. Your car should operate correctly even in those temps
  10. Yeah, if it just died.....it's probably the timing belt. Remove one of the plastic caps on the timing belt cover and verify that the timing belt is in tact, and/or the cam pullies rotate when you rotate the engine by the crank.
  11. You should be able to buy a blank master key from any online dealer, and then take it to your local dealer for them to cut. That's what I did.
  12. The throttle body issues I ran into were because of a sealant/coating they put on the inside of the throttle body. If your throttle body had something similar, then yes cleaning that off will throw off the calibration.
  13. If they're like the older legacies, you have to remove the entire door panel.
  14. The dealer should be able to pull that info, however if they can't, if you have the original keys from the car, (valet key) the key code should be stamped on it.
  15. That number is not correct. The numbers subaru gives are no way near being correct. There's been at least 50 touring wagons on the legacycentral bbs.
  16. You want NGK BKR6E-11 plugs They should be pre-gapped, however it's always a good idea to check. As for wires....NGK makes good wires.
  17. Yeah....unfortunately, it's probably on its way out. You're probably just best off driving it until it dies.
  18. Yeah you have to swap everything for the front ends to be swapped. Even then....there was probably some tweaking to make things work.
  19. I'd recommend replacing the thermostat and flushing the system. In addition you may want to look into replacing the coolant temp sensor too.
  20. You may want to look for an independent shop. Swapping it out yourself can be done with the help of a friend and a weekend. The biggest pain is making sure the torque converter & shaft gets seated properly in the oil pump. You should use dextron III ATF fluid....any dex III fluid should work.
  21. Welcome. I'd suggest changing the transmission fluid as starters. If you don't know the condition of the parts on the car, do a routine tune up, plugs, wires, air filter, pcv valve, fuel filter, etc. Check your brake fluid and coolant levels as well, pressure in the spare tire, as well as your main tires. You may also want to check out www.bbs.legacycentral.org too.
