  1. Welcome to the USMB. I'd also suggest checking out http://www.bbs.legacycentral.org if you haven't run across it yet.
  2. I would suggest starting by checking the ECU for codes. Even if the CEL hasn't come on, it's a good idea to check. From your description the only consistant thing is the problem occurs after filling up. Do you always take the fuel down to around where the tank is empty or do you fill it when half full, or is it a mix? That may help determine if there's any consistancy related to fill up level. What kind of maintenance has been performed on the car in recent months/years? Any additional information you can provide would be helpful.
  3. These instructions should help. You may not be looking at the correct connector. http://main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/abs-2E-diagnostics.gif
  4. I don't know the specific resistance they should be, but if you have a bad injector the resistance will be drastically off from the others. So I'd recommend testing them and see what their resistances are. If they are all similar, chances are they're fine.
  5. You may want to check out Bob is the Oil Guy forums and see if there's any comments there. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php
  6. Yeah....it will be in the coolant crossover pipe. I've seen the temp senders in the front side of the coolant crossover and in the back on the EJ20's. So you'll have to look and see where it is.
  7. Yeah, you should be able to use the ej22 coolant temp sensor.
  8. So you've disconnected the height adjustment computer under the driver's front seat, and the light is still blinking?
  9. Bump. Anyone have a picture? Can you describe the hoses you're referring to?
  10. Welcome to the USMB. I'm not sure you'll find a lot of info on this board about that. I'd suggest searching on NASIOC, http://forums.nasioc.com/forums Or some of the other subaru boards in New Zealand or Australia since they import those models from Japan.
  11. Did you loosen the trans mount when pulling the engine? I'd double check to make sure all the bolts are connected. I had a weird rattle after doing my AWD swap and turned out I didn't tighten the bolt for the pitch stop mount where it bolts to the chassis.
  12. Thanks for the sharing the fix. I can host pictures if you need them hosted. Otherwise, you should be able to attach a certain amount/size of pictures.
  13. I'm not sure of any major watch out for things in those models.
  14. I don't know the part #, but if it's a normal style bulb, you can likely get it at the autoparts store. If it's the smaller bulbs, you can get some at radio shack that are similar. First thing I'd suggest is to get access to the bulb so you can see about matching it.
  15. You can just remove the nuts holding the mounts to the crossmember and pull the mounts out with the engine. You can use the bracket the AC is connected to. I've removed the bracket before and just attached the chain to one of those larger bolts holding that bracket.
  16. I think I've read the first document, but does look like some good reading.
  17. I've actually heard some reasonably good comments about the new 6's Subaru is making. No real issues that I've heard of.
  18. It's the auto trans....it's just how it is. It may be worn, which may be making the issue worse. I'm not sure there's anything you can do about it. If you're looking to do a 5spd swap, I'd put up with it until the swap. I know I was much happier with my car once I did my 5spd swap.
  19. I'd take a turkey baster and suck as much of the old fluid out and put some fresh fluid back in. If the fluid has consistantly been aerated, you may not be able to get the air out of it. So if the noise gets better with new fluid, but is still there, I'd drive the car a little, and then remove the fluid again and replace a second time to flush as much of the old stuff out. Also, do make sure to use plain old Dextron III (you'll most likely only find Dextron IV or V, which is fine)
  20. There's more in the response section below. Pretty good comments.
