T-Rex-WRX update
I think you guys are confused, the WRX refers only to a model of the Impreza, no other cars. Now the RX, that is a different story, the RX that we know of here in the USA is actually the Gen II version of the RX, but my research shows that it is actually a Gen III. There was a RX 4WD that appears to be based upon a mid 70's coupe, then there was a EA81 based car, somewhere in my archives of pictures I have a photo of the mid 70's one, I'll see if I can find it.

Subaru boat???
Emily, I'm curious, why would the water pump rust out with fresh water? If this is a problem, maybe youy'd have to come up with a way of by passing the Subaru water pump (which appears to be the weakest link).

T-Rex-WRX update
I know what you mean about the early WRXs, look at my signature block. I am just about finished with getting my 96 WRX STi Type R replica put back together after painting. With luck, I'll have a picture posted on Sunday.

T-Rex-WRX update
So, I'm curious as to why you are going with the EJ22 engine instead of an EJ20G engine. If you are going to go through all the trouble to install an EJ series engine into the car, why not get one will more horse power, and possibly even a WRX engine, then the car's name woiuld fit better. There are EJ20G from Legacys out there for less then $500, but they only put out 200 to 220 hp depending upon the turbo they have on them. You might be able to find an early WRX front clip for around $2000, that will have everything you need, engine, tranny, rear suspension, rear diff (to match the tranny), the ECU, and a complete front wiring harness. Those range from 240 to 275 hp. You might be able to use a Legacy FWD tranny if you wanted to keep your car FWD.

Miss/stumble at 1/4 throttle in my turbo wagon...
I have two EA82T powered vehicle, and both of them have a hesitation at low RPMs, I have tried everything to fix this problem, nothing ever completely got rid of it, so I live with it. My EJ20G (turbo) powered vehicle does not have any hesitation at any RPM, so it looks like Subaru fixed that problem on the EJ series turbos.

14" pug alloys at lynwood PAP
Gee I had Tex check last Wednesday and I check again on Thursday, neither of us saw the wheels eventhough we know that the Peugeot was going into the yard. I guess it went in after we checked.

Project RX: Still not running
Get the vacuum checked!!!!!! It sound similar to what was going on with the wagon and that was cause by valve timing, but the other thing that could have caused it was a vacuum leak, and a vacuum test should point that out.

seattle 2 Wcss6 caravan
I was planning on leaving earlier then that, but I might rethink that. I'll be taking two cars, the wife doesn't have much faith in her car, so it might be good to travel with a group of Subarus.

WCSS6 headcount
The wife and I will be there, probably with two cars, Imprezas weren't made for hauling a lot of camping gear.

Roll call for Seattle RallyX this SUNDAY ((RESULTS are up))
Looks like the Pickle Wagon ran into stiffer competion this time, too bad they misspelled Matt's last name, but then maybe that wasn't really Matt, NOT!!!!

who's gonna bring some entertainment for WCSS6
oddcomp, that's not a toy, that is a weapon. I don't think the Park personnel or the Police would look kindly on that type of thing being shot being the show, please leave it at home.

Forester Clocks on EBAY
Dr. RX replied to ferret's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXGee, at 1st Subaru Parts, it only costs $39.78, but then you'll need to add shipping, for me that would probably be less then the $4.00 difference. I need a clock for my Impreza, but I don't think this one would work, as I don't see anywhere that I could fit it.

www.allsubparts.com Reputable/Reliable?
Ken, AllSubaruPart is not Jason (Auburn Subaru), that is Jamie's (Carter Subaru) site, Jason is http://www.1stsubaruparts.com/ . Jamie's site tends to be more towards aftermarket newer Subarus although you can get genuine SUbaru parts there also. Jason's site is purely genuine Subaru parts only. Both sites are great places to get parts, I usually use Jamie's for aftermarket and Jason's for genuine Subaru parts.

I think it's about a three hour drive from Bend to Hood River.

Will a 2L Legacy Turbo engine fit...
So, were you asking if the turbo engine or just the turbo can be installed. The answer to both is yes, but with the bigger turbo will come a larger spinning mass, thus more ineria to overcome, thus more turbo lag. Actually going to two smaller turbos would be better, but if you want to talk about mods, this is the way to go, you have to mod everything.

390 metrics
I wouldn't even bother with the metric wheels, there are plenty of US Peugeot wheels (inches) out there.

Installing Navigation System for 2005 Outback has become somewhat of a nightmare
Dr. RX replied to newuser's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI'm told the JDM 2005's have a nav system, but so far it is only in Japanese. If you look at the one in the 2005 Nissan's thery look like they are a bolt in for where they should be on the Legacy's. That would make since because Nissan provides a lot of electrical stuff to Subaru.

How do I get 93 Legacy ECU codes?
Dr. RX replied to SVX_commuter's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXActually you have to connect a connector. There should be a connector (either green or blue) that has a single wire leading to it. When it is connected, the 'Check Engine" light on the dash will flash the code to you. This should be move to 'New Gen' section.

Will a 2L Legacy Turbo engine fit...
?????? One mod to one piece of a three piece tranny mount is a lot of mods??? The wiring of the aftermarket ECU required no mods, just takes time.

WCSS6 Pre-Campout in Bend Oregon. Friday August 27th.
Well I guess it is just me or something, but I have driven from the Puget Sound area (Bellevue and Sammamish) to and through the Sacarmento area many time in one day. My last trip down that way I stopped in Portland and picked up a friend, we left his house about 10 AM, we got to Lodi in time for dinner around 8 PM (the sun was still up). But you guys are going to be making a few stops along the way (we stopped once for food and gas). It isn't that far from Klamath Fall to Bend, a couple of hours at the most. So if everything goes well, you guys should be able to make it to Hood River in one day.

Will a 2L Legacy Turbo engine fit...
Well, I'm not sure what GD is talking about, but I have installed a JDM EJ20G Legacy engine into a 87 RX, it pretty much bolts right in. The only modifications that I had to do was to fabricate a new back tranny mount bracket from the original one, I also used the Legacy tranny. The 86 and 87 have the same tranny tunnel and they are narrower at the back then the Legacy, but the front bolts right up. The hardest part of these transplants if the electrical. Hooking up the ECU for the JDM EJ20G can be a lesson in patience. I used an after market ECU for my transplant, much easier, but a lot more expensive. There were two series of Legacy EJ20Gs, one made 200hp and the other made 220hp. Why not try to find a JDM WRX engine, if you stay with a manual tranny and a sedan, they start with 240hp and go up to about 280hp.
