  1. Ed... I'll have to come by and take a look. I'll give you a call this evening.
  2. Show me some ways I can fit my CD player in a Brat. It seems however I do it, I'll have to give up the use of 1st and 3rd gear, those are my two favorite gears!!! Pictures speak 1000 words.
  3. The tranny won't last. These trannies are nothing more than pieces of glass held together with elmers glue and bit of voodoo. Let me recap: Dan in his Turbo wagon: Pushbutton 4wd 5spd - Broke rear output selector (was running in RWD) S/R Fulltime 4wd 5spd - Shift rod froze up, on examination 2nd gear was toast Me in my RX: D/R Fulltime 4wd 5spd - Shift rod froze up, got rid of it before I could open it up On my tranny I did quite a bit of full on launches. You know... the kind where the fronts are busy spinning and the back end locks up and steps sideways a bit.
  4. The shifter has tons of play in it. It is a 4spd tranny. I noticed this problem on the previous tranny aswell, so its a linkage issue. The main bracket at the end of the shift rod has been slit, and has had a bolt run through it. So it is tightly clamped. I believe the problem is where the shifter comes down and goes into the divot in the tranny. Is there supposed to be something there to keep that end of the shifter from moving about? How should I go about fixing it? Is this what McBrat suggests usuing Quiksteel on?
  5. 8 times out of 10 the engine won't hold an idle after coming to a stop. It will usually hold an idle after being started though. What should I look for? This is all stock btw. Is my favorite 5 letter word the easiest answer? WEBER?
  6. Well ************ Corky. I was 11 miles up the Salmon river from Riggins Idaho. In the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE.
  7. I hope it works out for you! Dan has been running with it disconnected and with the boost turned down for awhile. He wasn't entirely happy with how the car behaved (mainly idle behavior) after having the FCD in for awhile. Kinda weird, cause it worked great, then for some reason some morning the car decided it didn't want to idle. Unhooked the FCD and it idled... we're still not sure what is up. It is still in place, and is still used on occasion, but not for daily driving.
  8. I recently picked up a couple of brushguards, and what I believe is towbar attachment w/ massive skidplate aswell. I'm looking for pictures and descriptions of what makes a complete "kit" for either of these items. So I can verify I have everything... or if I need to hunt some more to fill in these kits. Once I have complete kits, i'll figure out what I should do with them, I may have some for sale...
  9. I assure you they were on there before he left town
  10. Hush Caleb! Back to your box. **MOVE ALONG FOLKS.... NOTHING TO SEE HERE**
  11. 6 PSI sounds fine. I remember seeing 7ish on mine with just the wastegate. 18 sounds decent. Stock I used to pull 20ish, with the delta cams I have like... zero ... Ok, not that bad, but its pretty low.
  12. Long ago I had an axle replaced there... while it was done, that axle nut needed to be retightened a couple of days later, as it was not torque'd down enough. I would not go to Suburb Service (also known as Subaru's Only) for any service...
  13. My roomate works at Smart Service, and I too will say it is THE BEST shop in the area. Just be aware, that being THE BEST comes with a price and you completely get what you pay for. If the quote from Smart scares you, PM me, I'm local to you (live off 180th and Bothell-Everett now) and would be more than happy to look at some stuff with you. Best of luck!
  14. Yum!! I'm still partial to my stock '00 2.5rs rims though. What size? 16? 17? 18?
  15. I have to say that Dan has definately learned from my mistakes... Dan's tires are stock RE92's at 205/55/R16 I believe. Whatever the stock tire size for the WRX is. He's running front struts off of a JDM GF WRX wagon. He found these struts sitting on a car in someones frontyard. The springs appear to be stock, but could be aftermarket. He simply took out his old blown assemblies and put in the spring/strut assemblies off of the JDM wagon.
  16. Yes, he's getting trusses done. Apparently the big rush was because the trusses arrive on thursday. He needs to get all the walls up so they can just drop them up on top, instead of in the driveway so he doesn't have to figure out how to get them up there himself.
  17. That metal I gave you come in handy? Looks great!! Paint it flat black please!!
  18. Its a 1987 Subaru RX Fulltime 4wd with center diff lock 5spd, dual range Turbocharged
  19. In both my cars I use what I thought was a pretty standard spot... With the ebrake down, and the 4wd lever in 2wd mode (down) there is a perfect amount of room to set a fast food cup or can or bottle down. You certianly need to pay some attention to it and not drive all crazy... but I think it works out really well.
  20. Stock its 5.25 in the front doors and 6.5 in the rear doors. Shallow 6.5's fit in the front doors with no problem (you'll have to use self tapping screws though) Good 6.5's will fit in the front doors if you use a 1/2" spacer... but this leads to some door panel modification...
  21. Sounds Good Garner. I'm sure whatever logo you use will be badass... especially if its one of mine. Feel free to tweek away at mine... I'll take 2 one with Monica and one Mr. Monica
  22. How can I get the key code? Is that encoded in the Vin? Is it something you could get for me Will?? Yes, you know I HAVE to do this. Currently my RX is a bit more STi than yours... Although yours runs...
  23. STi Key blank cut to match old key = Work???
