  1. I have 14" pug alloys on right now and I have never had the wheel rub on the caliper. Interesting.....
  2. I talked to James at AA and he says its a guy from Philomath. I you are reading this (insert name here), come join us sometime for some wheelin. Both of us are in Corvallis during the week.
  3. Ok Friday evening I'm sitting in line at the Corvallis Ski and Snowboard swap and I see a red EA82 lifted wagon drive down 53rd st in front of me! I thought that I had the only lifted wagon in Corvallis other than James' silver one. Who else has a lifted wagon in or around Corvallis????
  4. Yeah, well just take out the muffler deal thats in the wheel well and you will get the nice noise you are looking for and also keep the cold air coming in.
  5. I agree, the EA 82 intake is pretty much as good as it gets no matter what kind of filter. I have seen people do complete overhauls of intakes ie from new Subarus, but thats alot of time and money. An EJ series engine is more responsive to a change in filter types than the EA82. Plus the EA82 is allready pulling cold air from the wheel well. A cone filter will just take in the warm air from the engine compartment. You can take out the intake muffler/snorkle deal in the wheel well to get the nice growl sound from the intake. Other than that I am aout of ideas. Who knows, I could be wrong... I just can't find any more ways to greatly improve the EA82 intake. The SPFI models also run a tad lean which haveing more air doesn't help without a fuel system upgrade. I have searched and searched and haven't found anything super big. But if someone else has done something different that has worked well please share the info:)
  6. maybe even see if the ignition coil is leaking or has loose connection, My Loyale acted the same way and the coil was bad. But either way definatly check the fuel system too like Cougar said.
  7. Hey James what are your ideas for a front skid on EA82's? is it going to be a full front or just an adapted original? I would love to cover the whole front if possible. any tidbits you got would be sweet.
  8. Try these guys, super fast shipment and good prices! http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/
  9. I had a '87 EA 82 that the body was held together by what paint was left, soo much rust, everytime you closed a door flakes and chips would fall off. The cargo wells in the back were totally rusted out, you could see the road through it! But the drive train and frame was solid as a rock! Ran great! go figure...
  10. That's great LOL, I wonder how many times that has been done???
  11. I would go for it just don't race and take it easy, if you have a 5spd make sure your clutch is properly adjusted so it won't start slipping on you.
  12. From my experience both of my carbed GL's that I had ran rough when cold, maybe just the nature of the carbed beast? My SPFI EA82 idles right up on a cold start because of the fuel injection, new coil didn't hurt either.
  13. yeah the other ends are probably underneath the bench seat.
  14. It would be cool to see video of some of those pictures!
  15. Really cool video. Looks like a fun trip! The subaru should have been leading the toyota! That vid was totally worth a banana!
  16. Looks sweet, definatly needs to get dirty!
  17. Definatly will fit, that's what I ran on mine before the pugs.
  18. Great job! Video was awsome, good to see it in action! Would love to look under the hood.
  19. Cool swap! Looks real good, definatly a banana
  20. I'll be there with my video equipment! Can't wait!
  21. Thats a great way to test out the snorkle! Awsome wheelin pics! a round of bananas for ya!
  22. I use my rig right now as the daily driver and moderate trail usage (until the daily driver part can be replaced). I put on my 14" pugs 195/80/R14 Wildcats. Not too bad for driving on all of the time but still decent on the trail and gravel. But as said by others it really depends on where you plan on driving and in what conditions, how much clearence you have in the wheel wells, and what you want to spend. I didn't want to do any fender cutting until this car is replaced with something else for the daily driver. So I got a conservative tire size and aggression for what I use it for. Click on my AVATAR to see a bigger pic of the PUGS and tires.
  23. I need to change out my O2 sensor, its going bad. This is some good info you guys are sharing. Thanks
  24. Thats a sweet find! Definately a good restoration project.
