  1. Its my car and its been an ongoing project for a while. Here is the thread with most of the mods and bits I've done to it: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103355 It has a 4" body lift and another 1 1/4" with the King Springs. The brush guard was made by Warn Industries back in the eighties specifically for EA-81 Subarus, namely the Brat. I fitted it to my reinforced Loyale bumper. I'm running 14" Peugeot alloys with 195 BFG AT's. Car has an EJ22 motor, Dual Range 5SPD Trans, Disc brakes all around, LSD rear diff, Primitive Racing front and rear skidplates, XT6 front seats, and misc GL-10 interior bits. Please feel free to ask any questions about it. If you are thinking of doing something similar read my linked thread above for some good ideas. Oregon Trail Rally 2011
  2. Good to see you out there Sunday Ed!
  3. Once you go EJ22 you'll never look back!
  4. I'll be out there all weekend filming.
  5. Here's a thread I put up on my swap, lots of pics and questions answered. Once you do the motor swap and give it a drive you will never go back. The car will drive so much better and pull hills like a champ!
  6. I've got the KYB GR-2's on my '92 Loyale. If you talk to a KYB dealer you can get the right part numbers. The KYB website doesn't have them listed for wagons for some reason but they do make a set and they are really nice! I also swapped out the springs too because the stock springs were tired and saggy. I went with a set of King Springs, they are a direct fit for our EA82 wagons. got them from here: http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/susp.htm
  7. I've got a set of King Springs on my '92 Loyale. They are a direct bolt on, no cutting needed. They are a progressive rate spring and ride great on HWY and offroad, plus no more saggy front and rear!!! Got them from a dealer here in Oregon: http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/susp.htm
  8. '92 Loyale, EJ22 engine
  9. This looks like a great event!
  10. The clutch disc is the same as my EA82 one, its just that the XT6 pressure plate has more clamping force and that's why you need it for a bigger engine. No grinding or anything like that to install, just drop right in.
  11. Hey Fignuts! Nice Brat! this guy has some late 70's parts for sale http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=121679
  12. Feel free to ask any questions! I'm here to help.
  13. I'll be out there in my Subaru filming the event.
  14. Any year XT6 clutch kit is fine. What you really need out of it is the greater clamping force with the pressure plate. The clutch disc is the same as any other EA82 I believe.
  15. Thanks! It was a USMB group effort. Let me know if you have any questions along the way.
  16. What do you need to know? KYB makes a GR2 that bolts right up to these EA82 cars which are a nice and affordable upgrade to the factory struts. And the King Springs are a progressive rate spring instead of the linear rate ones that come stock. The Kings are going to give you a better ride on the HWY and be able to suck up bigger bumps off road, and give you another 1" 1/4 or so height gain. These King Springs are specifically made for this car. They make springs for most old Subarus up to the current model offering. Primitive Racing is the US dealer for the King Springs which are made in Australia and can be purchased here: http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/susp.htm For some of the newer Subarus they make lowering springs and raised height springs. He should have a set in stock. Tell Paul that Chris sent you.
  17. I replied to the message you sent me. Also take a look at this thread I did a while back on my EJ swap for my Loyale. All of the info you could need is in there with pics. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103355
  18. the tread part of the dead pedal pops up and flips over to one side. Its held together though with that black sticky stuff and is a PITA to move. after that is flipped over you will have access to the bolts holding it to the car. I have put on just about everything from a GL to my Loyale including the dead pedal, map light, door handles, rear cargo light, etc... All of the factory holes are on the car just under the plastic or headliner. For the map light and rear cargo light make sure to grab the wire with the plug from the donor car, just unplug it from the donor and plug it in the Loyale. The Loyale harness has the spots to plug in the lights so no need to monkey rig some more wiring. The dead pedal and door handles have the mounting points also just like Numchux mentioned. Just make sure to get the hardware off of the donor car so you can just bolt it right up to your Loyale. I can post pics sometime if people need it.
  19. What's the pricing for one of these kits to fit a '92 Loyale?
  20. Give the guys over at Perrin Performance a call. I know they have housed rally cars before for Rockstar Rally team.
  21. Sure thing. I'm around, for sure out there for the March event. What were you driving in for the rally X last Sunday?
  22. Nice driving out there today Ed! Thanks for the empty seat.
  23. Here's a link to a thread I did on my EJ swap. Plenty of pics and good descriptions on what you need and all of the little things that had to be done also. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103355
