Running rich

I need enlightened " The computer can read if the solenoids are opening, closing, or are stuck" In this particular case where an evap or purge solenoid is stuck. Do you mean electricly open as in windings open? Closed as in not passing gas?? How does the ECU know the vacuum is not being tranfered? Is there a vacuum switch in the circuit that I have not seen? Does it use the Baro-MAP sensor? Is this associated with the old gas cap loose check engine light? Thanks in advance for the reply as.. Enquiring minds want to know. -

After you replace the rad. Best this you can do for MO POWR after the IC and boost control is a high flow cat and.... Dad will not even know you modded it until you start it up?? -
I think he plays with his dip stick too much

Please excuse this repost but I think it fits the subject title in response to a bgd73 post someone?? said the following.......... We in the area of this planet dubbed the northern hemisphere where in northern vs some other context southern meaning not a lot in reference to Greek mythology may have a link to the standing God protecting the straights of Gibraltar whom the Phoenicians worshiping the combination of the light reflecting ambiance of green and azure created a semblance coherent that would ultimately yield a pressure here to now known as Coriolis. Egos in adjunct to the vector forces imposed by the laminar flow over an object moving through a fluid which will result in such a happening. I personally have witnessed this phenomena on many instances while piloting my steadfast 87 Gl/starship. The solution has been here to with compared with equal results. I'd like to add it to his Ebay write up.

At the time these cars were manufacted(sic) there was a TSB* about this on the cars with the digiacrash(sic) dashes describing this problem. (*Technical Service Bulletin) I had an 87 GL-10 that would do this. The ground for the dash el. components wanted cleaned and tightened. You will find this ground under the passenger side front intake manifold bolt. Gloyal said it best - there is no valve on the heater core just a "blend door" to adjust the heat into the cabin. You no doubt turned the fan on thinking it would help. The other loss of voltage to the dash comes from the fuse box under the dash. The power wire coming from the fusible links to the main feed on the back of the fuse box has trouble. DO AS Nipper says - get the NEW rad - not some hooky flush/backyard "think it's good"--> unless you like pulling engine and doing head gaskets??? If this still bothers you get a real gauge installed. Hope this helps.

"vacuum driven bits and bobs is definatley intriguing...." Having the pleasure??? of working on some late eighties Honda's The magic black box on the bulkhead had some serious framous-dingles inside and about thirty (30) vacuum lines to it. There should be a thermo-switch in the aircleaner to control the "furnace". It was reported that the carb jets are tuned to provide the proper mix when the air temp going in is 100 deg F. As we know, air density (02 content) is a function of temp. -
as Miles says, plug and play. Your donner has everything you'll need. Keep the Outback ECU. You need the head pipe and the flex plate. (i.e. one will be a twin port exhaust the other a single, remove the flywheel and instal the flex plate) There maybe some EGR issues depending on the 2.2 series. The purge cannister plumbing may be a bit different. Swap some mounts (PS and AC) -> good to go. There are many many posts on this with complete detailed sections. Good luck, my swap was a piece of cake but I started with a 95 2.2L

Wich line should I use, timing belt EA 82?
Skip replied to Swedenboy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
After the belts are on then making sure the # 1 cyl is on compresion (look for both valves closed, or use the cotton ball over the spark plug hole trick- crank the engine over till the ball pops out), turn the flywheel so the mark is at zero degrees. Point the rotor in the dist. at number one spark plug wire tower. That should be close enough for you to get it to start. You must connect the green connectors under the dash to set the timing properly with a timing light after you have it running. Hope this helps -

Turbo brat tranny/engine swap?
Skip replied to csiprun's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
keep in mind the tranny cooler in the rad is designed for the return pressure from the tranny. This amounts to about 10~15 psi Things could get ugly fast if it ruptured, plus you would not know about untill???? -
Welcome to the USMB -- Dude sounds like the CTS (FI Coolant Temp Sensor) is toast also sounds like the IAC (Idle Air Control valve) needs cleaned. There will be many posts found on both these subjects. The mushy feeling may be low tire pressure??

As Dave T and I pointed out in your last thread on this subject You are running a risk of a pretty nasty situation. The seal goes out due to other problems, these problems would need corrected in the rehaul (rehaul - combo --> re-build...over-haul) As Dave T said following my lwarning of diff lock up. "The pinion was moving forward into the diff carrier. Applying engine power causes the gears to "screw apart" from each other, engine breaking causes the pinion to "screw into" the carrier" Good luck, I have provided all I can to this situation. Your decision to continue driving this problem is yours. Therefore I am unsubcribing from this post. Please ware your seatbelt at all times. It's a jungle out there. It's tuff eating crow with no front teeth.
