I did a solo tranny install this fall and had to bolt a 2x4 onto my floor jack, strap the tranny to it, line every thing up and from the front of the car I rocked the crank back and forth with a 22mm socket on a breakerbar while pulling the tranny forward on the jack. once the splins lined up the tranny slid into place like butta. Hope this helps

It just keeps gettin better.....I found a craftsman 1/2 breaker bar in the rear cargo area, under the spare and a bunch of garbage. Man this is the best $5 I've spent in a long time!

Ya, this is the third "bad tranny" I've recovered. I'm keeping the push bar for the Brat but it does have a good element in the rear glass ifn you want to replace yours.

I just got back from the local police auction where I scored a '85 GL Hatch for $5! They said it had a bad tranny, you know the kind that makes the drivers side axle spin in the hub:brow: . So I put some gas in it, threw it in 4lo and drove it home. It's got 115k, push bar,and rear cargo cover (needs recarpeted but is intaked). The body is mostly rust free, exept the drivers door and rear quarter panel where it was hit and someone tried to pull it out and botched the job. I'll be gutting most of it and doing some sawsall action on it. "Bratchenstein":headbang:

I'm running the 225/70/14'S from Wal mart and havn't had any problems. I fact I talked Singletrack into getting them and he seems pretty stoked as well. Check out the vids in his post in Old Gen to see them in action. For the price, I think they're great.

I'm looking at a '94 loyale wgn with the pushbutton 4wd. I'd like to have a D/R tranny, but am too poor to afford the swap right now. So what's the opinion on these trannies? Are vac probs frequent? Is it a reliable setup? What do you guys that own them think? If I buy it, it'll be a family car, although I'll more that likely do a D/R swap at some point, it won't be a rallied out mod wgn (atleast for a few years) Thanks for any feed back, Roc

Just got back from rallying with Singletrack and Dustyrider. Ruckin Fad is the first thing that comes to mind! I limped it home on about half a clutch, one cooked wheel bearing, a sour CV and oh my acken rocker panels! S.T. gets props for the sickest three wheel I've ever seen! And we made believers out of some Yotas and Jeepsters . Pics and vid to come.

Dude, the wagon looks SICK! I might be back down your way this weekend. Maybe I'll bring the Brat and I'll show how to rally that thing!

Welcome aboard! Most of your questions can be answered by using the search tab. Theres a great shift linkage fix (read down a few posts), I had a tranny that did the same thing, just needed a good flushing and the prob went away (search for tranny flush) The front end vibration could be bent wheel, unbalanced tires, front end probs, or warped rotors. I'd start with the easy stuff, shake down the front end, swap out tires, and go from there. Good luck

Get your Brat out of the hands of that HACK at what ever cost. DO NOT leave it there. None of those repairs should have A. taken that long or B. have been done that bad! Post a plea to the east shore members of the board for local help, and get that thing into safe hands.

Ya, that was the OLD gut, back went it was all Mullets and Muscle Cars . They moved it to Lancster when mini trucks where cool then I think it moved out to South Salem, but I had left town by that point. Ah those were the days!

How long have you been in Salem? Did you go to High School there? I grew up there, lived on shipping street behind the Bob's Bugers on the old gut, went to North from '87 to '91. Maybe we know some of the same people.

I have the same type of deal with my wife, get rid of an old one before I take on a new one. It's hard to say good bye but it's good you'll have another to replace it.

My Brats not lifted but it is Freakin Chaos! Can't make this Oct. meet but a big HELL YA to a snow run!

I'd do it for the rental price of a cherry picker and a 12 pak of Old Style! but I don't think the trip to Co would be worth it!
