  1. I would get the crank knifed(profiled)to shave off some rotating mass since you said it is meant to sing up in the upper rpms. Also go with some stronger valve springs and stainless valves.I bought my high strength valve springs from RAM performance.
  2. Nice clean hatch!Looks sweet!
  3. I would just get the heads decked down like .050"(not sure what that is in mm).You already have the higher compression pistons than the stock hydro lifter ones in you dually carbie engine.Just need to muck around a bit with your intake manifold holes so they fit.I think then you would need 100 octane!
  4. Did you get the timing marks lined up properly when you put in the new disty? I would also take the cap off and see if the rotor turns when it is cranked over. That would be where I would start.
  5. Any chance you could get a picture of the suspension.I am not sure what came on those.Maybe ask Moosens,I know he would know if anyone does.
  6. I think you could go dome top.Slight dome that is.I think Ram performance or Wiseco pistons would be the best bet for that.I know that both companies can do custom work.Would be fun to try.
  7. When you are sitting in the back of your buddy's '81 subie wagon and your head and shoulder hit the ceiling at the same time! This happened to me when I was sitting in the back when we were going down the beach hitting sand mounds(at 40mph!) Only in Alaska!
  8. Love that wagon! I would have done the same cammo paint job!I think it looks sick!I am sure it will make people look twice when you are running around at around 4,000rpm.
  9. The dual port engine that you are looking for is about as rare as finding an old gsr subie here in the states.I am not really all that sure what year that engine was built but it is more than likely you won't find one unless you go outside the country. But with an ea81t you shouldn't have too much trouble with finding one of those.
  10. That thing is so nice! When you are finished with it,I would love to see it sitting next to a stock size hatch!I think it would me cool to compare the two. Good job!
  11. Exactly what I would have said.Should work or if you can get any #'s off of the tranny.I think there should be something on that thing to give you some sort of indication.I would also call the dealership with your #'s you found and see if they can help you.
  12. Ya your point on ccr is a good one.May be just as good depending on what mileage you are sitting at.I have been to S-Wings and can say they do know what they are doing and let me poke around their shop to check things out.You should be good either way you go.
  13. Love those P51's.One of the coolest low level high speed passes I have seen was by a gee bee r1 replica that flew inverted over the tarmac!
  14. I like the one on the bottom, but the one on the top looks too much like a honda civic hb.
  15. Did you give CCR a try? They do good work. Also if you wanted a low mile engine did you check the JY's?I have seen a couple ea81's with right at 100k.
  16. Yes,Mick told me that it didn't have power in the bottom end.It needed to be reved a bit for the carb to be happy.
  17. Look at some of the pictures McBrat posted. He had one on his red brat.I know he had a 600cfm carb on there for a while! It looks great.
  18. Ya I think you should be able to get it straight again.I would take it out and lay it face down on the ground so you can get a really good perspective of where you need to start at.
  19. Nice!I love the look of your wheels.
  20. Something comes to mind like that one bloke who had a turbo sticking out of the hood of his brumby.I can't seem to find the video clip of Aussie brumby on Youtube.I think it was Phiz who posted that one.
  21. Welcome.Heres to you and a better year and lots of subie fun!
  22. All of this EJ swap stuff is very interesting to me.I am especially interested in what you guys do with the megasquirt(Cab let me know how it goes).I really want to see that car when you get all of your parts together. :burnout: :burnout: Four times the fun!
  23. I second that note on the tranny.Needs a manual swap, but for the time that you have the auto,I would check the tranny fluid.Might be a little low.But as stated before I think it needs some tune up tlc.
  24. Cam seals, valve cover gaskets, check your water pump and (most important) check your tensioner and pulleys.I have seen plenty of peoples horror pictures of tensioners gone bad! Also may want to check your front crank seal.
