Wiring with a Weber
Did you put a electric choke type weber or does yours have the water choke? If you have the electric choke then you need to hook that up just like the wire that goes to the hitachi. Also those wires you were talking about that run to the passenger side are most likely as you said something to do with emissions. If yours was a feedback type.

Holy **** that's a sweet Impreza
Jerry DeMoss replied to SakoTGrimes's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXStill a great point on what makes a subaru a "subaru"! Sick!

Tired of your "flopping" fuel door?
That magnet idea is great, although for the true redneck:A little duct tape works wonders!

E81 D/r
Also the ea82 has black timing belt covers on the front, where as the ea81 has push rods and is a very plain looking engine. The engine model is written right behind the ea81 distributor(up in front of the engine and a little to the left.)Also the ea82 has the distributor on the rear most drivers side of the engine. To another subie fan from Alaska like myself!

6" lift EA81 rear shocks
I agree to check with some of the jeep shocks. They may just work.I am using the rancho 5241's on the rear of my hatch.I am sure there is something similar that is longer.

twin turbo svx motor???
Intercooling on a plane is a doable idea, but on something that is drawing in that much air you might get some icing on the TB.I have heard of "overcooling" before on high preformance aircraft.

twin turbo svx motor???
Man that intake looks so sweet on that eg33.They also mention that they built an ej22t powered rv6a!

E-Test Fun
Ya I agree, they need to hire people with more car knowledge!I have had 2 people at the emissions place ask me why I put my spare tire on top of my engine! Funny stuff.

#4 cylinder shot - replace them all?
Jerry DeMoss replied to BSOD2600's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt is possible that you have a valve that is not seating properly or something to that effect.Another scenario is that your head gaskets are starting to leak.I don't know that you need to have it rebuilt just yet.I would think you could get alot more miles out of it before then. Also if it turns out that you need new heads,I have a good set off of an engine with only 87,000 miles of an ej22t.

Ford 4 lug pattern
How old are you thinking?I am pretty sure fords have always been 4x100.I could be wrong on some of the euro spec fords though.

Oddity at the junk yard
Well I may just have to check it a little more closely.I got rx's on the front of the hatch so that is a start.
-
Oddity at the junk yard
So are the front RS springs the same as the front ones on the RX?Same spring rate and height ect?
-
Oddity at the junk yard
Saw that one also Phil.I saw it when it was being brought out by a fork lift.I would have grabbed the gold hub caps if they were in better shape. That was the first thing that caught my eye.

EA82t power differences in different countries
Exhaust gas temprature. Essentially the temp of the exhaust gas exiting the head. EGT is a thermocouple that changes the temprature reading into an electrical signal that is fed back to the computer.

ej22t into ej18
Agreed.I think that is the easiest and maybe the cheapest way to go rather than spending your time welding and cutting and such.

Time for EVEN MORE power!

Back in an EA81.. and stylin the T-tops
I would be up for buying those kits for the exhaust studs for sure!Is that for one side or for both?Sounds great!I Would get one for an ej motor also since I saw you have those available. Is this going to be a thread right in type of thing or will they need to be drilled/tapped out to a bigger size?Let us know when they become available.

Oil Adhesion to engine surface question??
Jerry DeMoss replied to Petersubaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe oil royal purple(which I use right now)I have found first hand to be a little easier on my engines at start up.In the past I have used Mobil 1 and could see a difference in engine noise at start up right away. The one additive that royal purple has in it is:synerlec.Which I have been told helps adhere to engine parts.Beyond that I don't know.
