I can listen to almost any music, depending on moods and if the station has commercials my favorites for working on soobs- (no particular order) country (new and old) techno (and all variations of it) "old skool rap"/funk/disco 80s and 90s "new wave" smooth jazz  pop classical on occation (movie soundtracks preferred) heavy metal and such... so yeah... uhh... just music! EJ22 swap-o-rama!!!
The EJ22 should fit nicer into an Ea82 body then it did on mine.. the Ea81 body is narrower, but the heads cleared the sides, and the Y pipe and mid pipe all fit in there (tight squeese, you willl need to remove the heat shields from the cat to make it fit near the radius rod plates in the ea81 bodys) the front clearance is a lot less, in an ea81 body with the stock rad. I had to use a AC fan mounted at a funny angle, because the tbelt casing and the serpentine style pulley setup (dual belt, AC/alt/PS) put the engine only an inch or so from the fan... (the thin AC fan!) the radiator hoses are a pain just so you know ahead of time... be prepared to customise something in there! the wiring.. I have the whole front harness and ECU that I removed from the wrecked legacy, you need the parts between the ECU<--->Engine and if its wiring from an AT, then ECU<-->TCU<--->Engine with the AT/MT selector wires jumped if you convert to an MT. fuel pump- use ea82T Axles- All the early EJ trannys are 25 spline, so you need to use ea82T MT (25spline) axles. make sure your rear diff matches your front! (4.11? 3.9?) driveline- lengthen it by 55mm or so from ea82 length.. there is a shop in the yakima area that Jerry knows about that has good prices... the EJ temp guage sensor are compatible with the ea series dash... just connect the one yellow wire for temp (you will see it, its on the back of the coolant plentum under the right rear leg of the intake) there are 2 sensors, one for ECU, and one for the guage) the EJ22 has an idiot light oil sender, so you can use that, or you will have to plumb an EA style sender into the EJ's sender's hole- (sender is under the alternator on top of the motor) good luck with the conversion!

Hey Minnesota members- I will be visiting soon!
that would be sweeeeet! and those pictures look somewhat like the terrain we have here so I may be "right at home" in those woods! anyother possible meet/greet ideas or times? are there any possible events or partys for things such as new years? I dont know what its like over there, but here (in Seattle) the city is lit up with partys all night on new years! (both public and private partys)

Hey Minnesota members- I will be visiting soon!
well, I will be there from the 20th (Dec) to the 5th (jan) and I will also possibly be showing someone (who I am staying with) how to 'wheel in his jeep.... if there can be such a challenge there (for me, who is used to the carnage of the PNW hills!) obvioulsly it will be difficult to plan around the holidays, but I am sure we could figure one day out! the ice racing sounds like very much fun too, I have always wanted to see/try that!!! (when I saw them do that in the recent Bond movie, it was that much more exciting!)

Hey Minnesota members- I will be visiting soon!
I will be out in Minnesota (Minneapolis area), traveling for the holidays this December around Christmas and NewYears... so this may be a chance to meet and greet! this is also going to be my first time out in the really cold weather!!! (compared to the PNW ) but unfortunatly, I will be without my subarus... all I will have (this time anyways ) is just pictures and videos of the Hatch Patrol fun! I dont know if it really is relavant to people that I will be over there, but if anyone would like to say hello while I am there, it would be cool! (always fun to meet people on the board when traveling!!!)

Lowering an XT.... cheap...
well, as you know, I have my turbo XT, which sometimes has the apperance of having a lift kit, but it does not, it just rides on 4wd adjustable struts at max height! but today, I decided to go the opposite of my norm... for the first time ever, I *gasp* lowered my car!!!! this was done for the cost of *my time and effort* (about 2 hours) and some old strut assemblys I didnt need anymore (i did not ruin the good ones in the car, they will be saved in case I need to "revert" the process...) so the XT now handles better, the axles stopped making noise (i guess they were just clicking from being hyperextended!!!) and it gets waaaay better traction!!! (forward accel and cornering, in Fwd mode tooo!) pictures tomorrow or wednesday, i still might lower it some more- (havent decided yet) tools used- (besides the usual wrenches to install the struts front and rear) spring compressor, electric cut off wheel and I was expecting it to ride like your usual honda, but ... for some strange reason, It still rides like a normal XT!!!!! (but lower!) tomorrows mission... to furthur pancake it if I can

mechanic or shop in redmond washington area?
I also know a guy (hmm wonder who... oh wait, me!) that can do almost anything with these cars... I learn more and more each time I work on them too- I am very negotiable about prices too (bartering and trading allowed sometimes!) you can ask other's about my work ability on them if you wish... some people have seen my abilities at work.... and I have learned from the best! (all of you guys here on the board!!!)

Pictures, and an RX sited! (Corkys?)
two things.. first, I added a few more pictures to the album if anyone likes to see picures! http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo36?page=10 not many, but a few  second... I was driving near Stevens Hospital in Edmonds, and I saw a red XT, nonturbo 85/86.. very nice condtion, and then right down the street from there, I saw a grey 4 door GL-10 turbo 4wd sedan! with the 14" pug alloys!! was this Corky's??? I dont know?! sure looked like it! if it was not, then there must be a clone running around!!!

Major Breakthrough! (T-coup)
in all the EA series cars. even turbo, there should only be one temp sensor, in the thermostat housing.. on ea81, I think it is used for both the gauge and the ECU sensor for "choke" control... thats what it is used for on EJ engines- except on EJ there are 2 different sensors, one for the dash guage, and one for the ECU, but they are sitting right next to eachother on the manifold!

The 84 turbo and emissions
well, my argument for the whole cat thing is based on my own car (turbo XT) and the fact that I took it to the very same emissions test stand (same person testing too) back in august... and.. my XT has NO cats or anything but an ugly muffler can... (completely gutted exhaust.. i know, i checked each section of pipe visually and with a coat hangar!) and it passed fine... the fact that I have no vacume leaks, and a clean throttle body and good gas.. and new plugs/wires/airfilter/etc.... might have been the key... and a cooling system with an OEM therm in it... (and not overheating at a stop/hillclimb in 100deg heat/etc..) ok ok ok.. sorry, i am done bragging.. but about the cat thing, i dont think it is completely nessacary... in fact, unless everything else is good.. having one still might not help...? thats just my idea though... i could dig up a emissions results for ya carl (from the XT) if you want to see it.. (they did not run the dyno on it either)
