  1. youll be fine replacing one tire...just verify the size.
  2. yeah. i was thinking the same thing.
  3. come on guys!! 26 days to go... as a promotion and incentive, anybody who is registered already and then puts in a 2nd registration will get a free Subaru hat the day of the show. the hats look like this: ill be handing them out at the event... in addition, anybody who has registered once or wants to help us out by putting up the $15 to meet our quota and knows they cant go - thanks for the support! ill personally send you a hat in the mail to show appreciation from all of us attending, please PM me your address.
  4. ive heard that the ECU and wiring will prevent this from be a straight ahead swap, can anyone verify?
  5. hey guys, i have access to a cable shifted AWD 5spd from a 1999 impreza wagon. after some contemplating and thinking, ive decided i want to pull out the 4EAT in my 95 L and swap it for the manual trans. i know obviously ill need the pedal box, trans and linkage...but anything else? crossmember? axles? seems like a pretty straight foward swap to me, but am i missing anything? i love my impreza but this auto has to go, not exactly fun going from my other car, a 200hp XT turbo to this. for reference's sake, heres the description of both cars. my car: 1995 2.2L with 4EAT AWD the donor: 1999 2.2L with 5spd AWD
  6. come on guys, its only $15. even if you are thinking about going, please register. your $15 is going to go a long way... i'll be laying another fee or 2 down once i pay a few bills this week...
  7. well, it appears that its finally road worthy...i hope. the last engine lasted 800mi before it started knocking. turns out, a piston that had been pulled out of it was scored and pitted. the car drove fine, but it made all kinds of noise. the new engine feels great, and seems like everything is squared away...i have about 280mi on this one as of this morning.
  8. i copy and pasted this from my XT thread a few pages back...heres my (updated) mods list: 1987 XT Turbo GL10 -IHI VF11 Turbo from an EJ22G with modded wastegate rod -K & N intake -WRX stock downpipe and midpipe with a 3inch straight pipe (no muffler) -full XT6 suspension front and back with adjustable KYB's in the rear - XT6 brakes, rotors and 5 lugs -Volvo By Pass Valve -Turbo XS standard boost controller (after the 1000mi break-in, i'll probably be boosting to 13psi daily) -Ford T-Bird intercooler -custom short throw shifter -3.70 rear LSD and RX FT 4WD trans -XT6 clutch and lightened flywheel -677/260 Delta cams -XT6 wheels with 205/60/14 Sumitomos -complete XT6 interior including dash, seats and paneling -Autometer boost, temp and oil pressure guages i also have a spare MAF (flapper door style) that has been toyed with so it enrichens the mixture. i keep it in the garage and use an unmodded MAF for daily driving type stuff.
  9. maybe i mis-read... but i didnt see a make for these springs? who makes them and what did they cost?
  10. meeky, check the label under the hood...theres a process to timing the vacuum advance turbo distys, and yes - it does make a difference. i think for the 85-86 cars, you had to disconnect the vacuum line to the vacuum adv., unplug the knock sensor connector by the air box (these cars had a knock control module in the fender) and connect the green plugs which were under the hood in those cars from what i remember. you should be getting alot better milage then what you are getting now...i was getting 300-350mi per tank when i owned it and this was only a year ago.
  11. did it explode into a million pieces after you were finished designing it?
  12. guys... in case anyone is in doubt, the carlisle meet is still a go. our thread was moved due to the "rules" and stationed here where it seems to have lost some steam...buts its just a bump in the road. i just want to reassure those who registered that scott (subarubrat) and i are doing all we can to get our group registered for the show and retain our piece of the fairgrounds that weekend. to those who put the money down already, thanks, your help is appreciated. looking forward to may 21st...
  13. those hub caps were available in the US market too...
  14. get $2Gs together and find a legacy or impreza. youll be buying yourself sanity...
  15. im sure we'll be finding out soon... some of us are in WRX territory when it comes to power now. i have the D/R RX trans and 2nd and 3rd feel like they want to grenade themselves at full throttle when i leave the line during a launch. anyone wanna take bets as to who will be the first to blow thiers up?
  16. nice work tex... meet me half way (missouri?) and we'll sit down and share secrets sometime?
  17. almost forgot... here are some pictures of the beast: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/toomanyea82ts
  18. ok guys...seems like tex and i must be on the same wave length, the XT runs again, a day or so after his RX. the delta cams are in and the a/c compressor along with all of the other a/c components are gone. these cams really breathe new life into the car, im impressed...it feels like a different car. the dead spot between idle and boost from a dead stop is gone, replaced with alot of throttle response due to the torque these cams provide. im boosting about 5-6lbs until the engine is completely broken in (1k miles), then ill start increasing gradually. the engine was completley rebuilt down to the crank including new main bearings and rings. the car likes to idle at 1300, i could get that down more but then id have to constantly feather the gas pedal to keep it running. so after all is said and done, here is what the mods list looks like: 1987 XT Turbo GL10 -IHI VF11 Turbo with modded wastegate rod -K & N intake -WRX stock downpipe and midpipe with a 3inch straight pipe (no muffler) -full XT6 suspension front and back with adjustable KYB's in the rear - XT6 brakes, rotors and 5 lugs -Volvo By Pass Valve -Turbo XS standard boost controller -Ford T-Bird intercooler -custom short throw shifter -3.70 rear LSD and RX FT 4WD trans -XT6 clutch and lightened flywheel -677/270 Delta cams -XT6 wheels with 205/60/14 Sumitomos -complete XT6 interior including dash, seats and paneling -Autometer boost, temp and oil pressure guages hopefully it lasts more than 800mi this time.
  19. alex... i agree. i have had PM conversations with the mod who decided on this move and it did no good. perhaps a petition thread would be a better idea?
