I use my hatch as a road runner and i have the turbo 5 speed dual range tranny with 3.70 gears. Not any good off road but the freeway works really good. Want to know more let me know Thanks Jerry
  5. Hey Isaac This is Jerry, i just got a Ea71 from a 80 brat yesterday that runs really good. I want to sell it for 100.00 without the carb. Come and get it and you can have the tranny also, i live in Selah Washington. Make a day trip out of it, let me know. Thanks Jerry
  6. Hey Captain This is Jerry, i have the set up you need to do this swap over. I have a 86 hatch that has a EA81 with the 5 speed front wheel drive. The car has the Ea81 engine with the Ea71 bellhousing that will bolt up to your tranny. I am removing the engine and tranny in about 2 weeks, that stuff will be for sale or trade. Let me know if you are interested in it. Thanks Jerry
  7. Hey Zefy This is Jerry,i call BS on that one because i have a EA81 with a 5 speed front wheel drive 86 hatch that has that bellhousing. It will be up for sale when i part the car out soon. Thanks Jerry
  8. Hi This is Jerry, yes i have done this on my hatch. The bolt pattern i have is 4 on 4 1/2 and that is mustang 2 or toyota. I will have my car at the show so everybody can see it. I am also drilling another set of hubs to 4 on 4/3 to fit a set of stotted mags that i have. Thanks Jerry
  9. Hi Mary This is Jerry, it sounds like it's the carb. You have a vacuum leak inside of the carb. thats why it stays running in the winter. The choke is on , it makes the carb run richer. Install a weber and it should run fine. I have a small weber that came off of a Fiat and the size is a 2c-30DICA1. That would be purfect for your EA71 engine. It has a manual choke and needs a carb kit. I have the adapture for the fiat but i don't think it will fit your brat. Have to have somebody make the adapture. Let me know if your interested in it. Thanks Jerry
  10. Hey Subyrally This is Jerry, well cooper makes that tire size. It is called cooper cobra P205/60TR13 part # 39603. Check with your tire dealer and see if he can get them. Thanks Jerry
  11. Hey Jibs This is Jerry, the EA81 cars will fit but the EA82 cars won't fit they are to long. Yes get another trailing arm from a EA81 car and at the same time get the rear disc off of the EA82 and do the swap. Thanks Jerry
  12. Hi This is Jerry, if this is a gen 1 brat well then you need to look under the glove box. There is 2 or 3 fuses there and 1 of them is the charging light power. It is a 5 amp fuse, i found it by luck. Hopes this helps you. Thanks Jerry
  13. Hi This is Jerry, the parts book has the #7910 17130 and the screw part # 0460 04144. Hpoe this is what you are looking for. Thanks Jerry
  14. Hi Bill This is Jerry, the rattle is from the antie rattle bushing that is wore out. That bushing is under the shifter, to get to it you need to remove the consel. Then remove the rubber boot under the consel, then go under the car and remover the 2 nuts that holdes the shifter to the linkage. You will find a black piece of rubber around the white half ball that is on the end of the shifter. That black piece of rubber is it, go to dealer and get a new one part # 33154GA210 it cost about 3 bucks. When you put this back together make sure you put some grease on the ball. Thanks Jerry
  15. Hi This is Jerry, yes you can do that but you need a donor car to get all the parts alot cheaper that way. Thanks Jerry
  16. Hi This is Jerry, everybody is asking for these things for the outside of there cars. Well the bestest thing any body can come up with is a set of gears for the 5 speed dual range tranny 4.44 Come on everybody say yes that would be a great idea, i can't hear you say YES. Oh BTW i am first in line to buy these gears. Thanks Jerry
  17. Hey Pooparu This is Jerry, call me i can tell you all about the swap. My # 1-509-952-2855 Thanks Jerry
  18. Hey Sidekickin This is Jerry, the problem you are having on the catalytic converter and the heat on the CV boot. I have just the thing for it. You will have to drop the Y pipe and remove the heat sheild. Drill out the welded nuts on the sheild or knock them off. Get another sheild from another Y pipe use half of it when you bolt it back on the Y pipe. 2 parts on top and 1 on the bottom. Space the top 2 sheilds out with nuts the will go thruogh new bolts. This will leave an air gap between the 2 parts of the top sheilds. Thanks Jerry
  19. Hi This is Jerry, i really like the logo on page 4 under Zaps name the cross with the blue and yellow. I would like to buy 3 of those mugs. The first one with my name on it Bratsrus1 and the second one with Hatchbrat. The third mug to have on it BAJA 05 Let me know how much money and where to send it. Thanks Jerry
  20. Hi Matt This is Jerry, did you line up the dots on the flywheel and the pressure plate? If you didn't do that it will vibrate and the whine that you hear in all gears tells me that the input shaft bearing is bad. To replace that bearing you have to split the tranny. Getting back to first question the flywheel has a dot on the ring gear teeth and the pressure plate has a small circle on it have to be line up. Thanks Jerry
  21. Hey AKIRA This is Jerry, if you look under Northguy"s post titled drive train almost complete. Read the post that tells it all about the 5 speed kit. Thanks Jerry
  22. Hey bud This is Jerry, i emailed you 2 days ago about the kit for the 5 speed. If you want your brat to look stock then this is for you. But if you want to make up something your self then do it. Myself i like the stock look it really works for me and other people that's gotten one of these kits. This kit alows you to unbolt your 4 speed and bolt in the 5 speed its that simlpe. I don't push this on anybody you make up your own mind. Thanks Jerry
  23. Hey Matt This is Jerry, i would like to know how you like the 5 speed in your brat? People want to know also was the 5 speed kit EZ to install? Let me know Thanks Jerry
  24. Hey WJM This is Jerry, you need to find a tranny like i have setting in my yard. I have 2 from a 88 RX 5 speed dual range with center diff lock. With that type of tranny lock up the front and no more 1 wheel spin. Thanks Jerry
  25. Hi Mike This is Jerry, i live in Selah and drive to Sunnyside every day to work. Your brat is not hard to find parts for just got to know where to look for them. The engine needs to be resealed to stop the leaks. As for the clutch and tranny it would be better to install a 5 speed tranny when replacing the clutch. You will be much happier with the 5 speed. Also i make a 5 speed kit for your brat and it keeps the brat stock looking. Have any questions call me at 509-952-2855 Thanks Jerry
