My 82 brat hit its 100,000 miles the other day. The scary thing was I happen to be playing the Doors greatest hits and "The End" was playing when it hit over. I know that 100,000 isnt much but Im sure of things to come, problems that is. It was kind of starting to over heat tonight. Lets hope everything stays intack...

be nice and just give it a set of head gaskets to celebrate this milestone.thank me later!

ahh.. and mine turned over 150,000 today on the way to work. Should have brought some more appropriate tunes, but had to settle for "Remedy" by the Crowes... Don't want to get too happy about the milestone, since i want my rig to start in the morning. :D

I'm showing 72K on Eyesore. Could be 172K, but it doesn't leak any oil at all, (or anything else) which leads me to believe it may actually be 72. I know she spent about 8 years more or less dormant in a garage shortly before I bought her.....

I guess I should be seriously thinking Timing belt, huh?

Oh, yeah, Congrats on the milestone, biffanyus!

Is there a "club" for 283,000 miles on an '89 GL Wagon?:D

It's just a baby.Good luck with the next hundred thou.

It's interesting that most people try to limit the mileage on their cars while Subaru owners celebrate their high miles?

When I tell peole my 86 hatch just turned 200, they say "NO WAY!!!!" It looks good and young for its age.

And I foolishly departed with my old 88 GL wagon at a quarter mil. Oh well The new (actually older) 83 GL is going to be my new slut for the next few hundred thousand. Wish I woulda known how easy engine swaps were when I sold the last one. Some lucky guy got it for $450 and trashed it within a thousand miles. He thought it was an AMC Eagle.

mine had 187k on it when the h/g let go. i just bought another engine and put it in. the heads were cracked, and i didnt want to take the chance.

Eyesore...unless you swapped in an ea82, you don't have timing belts...ea71's & ea81's are gear driven. I never owned a Subaru under 100k. Stupidru just turned 158,000. Highest mileage I achieved was an 84 4x4 Sedan carb auto 190,000. The engine went 40,000 without an oilchange before rings finally give out. It leaked oil so I just kept topping it off.
