Since my beloved Subaru "BumbleBeast" is used as Daily Driver the 60% of the time on a mixed City and Highway basis, but also is used as Weekend Warrior Offroader, for Family "Mountain Adventure" travels on Weekends, which is the 40% of Use, I always seeked Balance between Usefulness and Looks...

And now I started a Poll where you can Vote in favor or against the Rims choices I had, on my "Low Budget Mode" in this Thread, feel free to "Like" and / or Comment there, on that Thread with Poll.

Bumble Beast,

I'm in the process of the KYB Toyota/Honda coil spring conversion & desperately need advice.

The coil springs are so thick & shocks so big, can't get the spring compressor in anywhere. Any tips?

And did yours come with a KYB dust cover on the shaft?

Do you remember how you got the spring compressor in such a tight area?

Or any saved pictures of that process?

I'm stuck with my car in pieces!

Thanks so much if you can help!

You're doing it Wrong, Dangerously Wrong ... ...

You Must assemble the New Toyota Shock Absorbers + the New Honda Coil Springs, OUTSIDE the Car, Not in the Car; then, you simply put the assembly, known as "Strut" in its Place on the Car. Super Easy.

... did yours come with a KYB dust cover on the shaft? ...

Nope.

The Complete Writeup on the Subject, is here:

Kind Regards.

I have it out on the ground, outside the car, but I cannot get the spring compressor to fit in the thicker spring and slide in this large Toyota shock. How can I compress the spring and fit the large shock inside the coil.

I disassembled the old Subie shock with this same compressor with no problem.

But the compressor does not seem to fit with the new Honda coil/Toyota shock combo.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Get a Bigger Compressor, or ask Help from a Mechanic Shop.

This is an Old video taken during a Weekend Family trip in my "BumbleBeast"on a two-way Road in Honduras, the video is short, but there you can see in action, the alloy 15" wheels it used to have, then I'll share here photos of the Newer wheels I obtained.

My Beloved Subaru "BumbleBeast" reached its first Thirty (yes 30) Years as part of my Family, it has been with me since it was New in 1985; so we celebrated at home the "three decades together" anniversary, with a especial Honduran Rum Cake from my hometown, the Traditional Pirate Cake from Roatán, comes in five different Flavors, as you can see them in the following photo:

Honduran%20Rum%20Cakes.jpg

The flavors of the Honduran rum cake are as follows, according to the order on the Photo:

Crazy Coconut, (we have lots of coconut trees all around the beaches)

Big Banana, (After all, Honduras is the mere "Banana Republic" for sure)

151 Proof Rum, (super Strong)

Island Original, and

Tropical Spice. (spicy Flavor)

Of course, this is my Favourite one:

List of Downloadable Files I has been sharing here since years ago.

I hope this helps...

After clicking the one of the manual download in this thread you will be taken to MediaFire eventually where there is a "BIG GREEN DOWNLOAD BUTTON" pointing you to click it for your document: If you do not want the MediaFire to give you the run-around and popups just "Right-Click" the big green "Download" button and select "Save-As" instead of clicking it for an endless loop.

This procedure works as of 02/Oct/2015

I'm sorry if "MediaFire" became a little Confusing for download files, but the Advertising keeps the files to be stored and shared for Free, and nothing can beat Free, and also they gives top speed for Download; my list of shared files is on the previous page of this Thread.  :)

For the past 3 days Loyale 2.7 Turbo has email me with detailed answers to my questions, enthusiastic in his contacts and a great guy for sure even when tasked him with all my endless questions.  It's not often you come across people like this and I appreciate all his help.

Very much appreciated.

Thank you for your kind words which I Really Appreciate.

Regarding This shifter's Boot:

I decided that it was too small for the application, so I asked a local Leather artisan, to make another boot for me; I gave him the proper measurements to let it fit great in place, not too tight nor too loose; and I used hidden screws to hold it firmly to the Polished Aluminium center console's cover that I made; see:
