December 20, 201312 yr Author ooh okay, yeah that makes sense. how much do you think i would have into the engine before it would be ready to swap in? not looking to sink a ton of money into a super rusty brat
December 20, 201312 yr I'm not sure. I don't really keep up with the EJ crowd. I've worked on a couple, but never built one. I have read a bunch on the swap, though. I suggest you do, too. The wiring is the worst part; especially if it's OBDII. That being said, it's still not cheap regardless. Check this out. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/118602-average-price-for-ej22-swap/
December 23, 201312 yr Author I just got another subie! For parts... Haha bought it for the fenders and the WEBER CARBURETOR!!! Edited January 10, 201412 yr by RustyBrat
December 23, 201312 yr That's sweet. Looks like you have some good panels to use for the Brat. Spare everything is always nice.
December 24, 201312 yr Author FINALLY GOT THE 3 BOLTS OUT THAT I WAS FIGHTING WITH! Now i can finally get the lift done! Edited December 25, 201312 yr by RustyBrat
December 25, 201312 yr Author I thought the egr was eliminated with the weber carb? I definitely could be wrong though!
December 25, 201312 yr My best bet is the PCV valve. Depending on how the PVC hoses are setup on the Weber,(if, at all) it's most likely PCV related. I wouldn't worry about it till it's on the brat. EGR just regulates exhaust gas to my understanding.
December 25, 201312 yr Author Well im putting the whole engine/transmission into my brat so i just want to know if that engine has issues... PCV.. Where and what is that exactly?
December 25, 201312 yr I thought the egr was eliminated with the weber carb? I definitely could be wrong though! It doesn't have to be. If you want to- you can. People have opinions on whether or not it's beneficial. Its up to you, really.
December 25, 201312 yr Author Also, does it even matter if it sprays oil? It gets in the air filter but does it matter?
December 26, 201312 yr Author got a set of custom cut floormats for the brat for christmas! thanks mom!
December 26, 201312 yr The PCV valve is located almost directly behind the carb. Here is a picture of what it looks like (Credit Dinky26) Its the plastic piece that the cracked hose is on.
December 26, 201312 yr Author okay, thanks! can anybody post a link of where i can buy a replacement valve?
December 31, 201312 yr Author Finally got the lift kit done! Im so pumped to drive it again!
