May 12, 200421 yr Thanks! I was forced into replacing the carpet. My front windshield has a leaky seal, the previouse owner knew about it, there solution was to shove a sponge behind the dash, under the leak, I dont know how long it had been there.... Long enough to get black with mold. I had the interior out for a while, when it rained I'd get a good inch or two of standing water on the passeger side. Quite musty to say the least. But YEA! A few cans of Rustoleum Silver really brightened up the cigarette tarnished dash parts. It's held up pretty well so far. Been a few months. The door jamb trims started flaking first, but Oh well... I'm happy with it over all.
May 13, 200421 yr This is quality: Jason Cambell's G35. Although it is a bit hard to see, everything in the interior, including the floor mats is covered in grey and blue Alcantara. Even crazier, the owner did all the work himself.

May 13, 200421 yr I am now repeating famous Soviet era Russian proverb: "Prefection is the enemy of good enough". Whatever you do, don't make it SO good you are afraid to live with it.
May 13, 200421 yr Look at an ad for a car-detailing shop for some select nouns and adjectives that may help in your description. Things like "show-room new" come to mind.
May 13, 200421 yr Author i spent quite a while on the phone with a couple interior shops around here, i ended up with a really cool guy, even offered to have me do a job shadow! but, the phrase he gave me was that it should look like its "never been touched" like, no blemishes, no runs, no streaks, absolutley perfect, like it could have come from the factory that way, except not quite:) sound good to you guys?
May 13, 200421 yr that sounds good now if I could ony find a way to keep the dog fur from sticking to my seats I would be happy.
