Looks like my favorite plug spanner so well angled and suited to plug changes on my Subes....the Champion Plugmaster CT900 has worn out its ratchet so now its ratchit.

Such a nice finish to it, perfect ratchet, beaute angle....got it in 1983. Same not appear to be made no more, no replacement ratchets to go in handle? Anyone know?

Snap on makes a very similar ratchet same angled bend etc.

 

Not sure if the handle would swap, but i know snap on makes a very similar one if you went to buy a new one.

By a nice Snap On ratchet and you will have it for a long time. They are expensive but worth it IMO. I think that they make a style just like that Champion one too.

R3place the innerds use a similer one as a donner maybe find the same brand there isent much to them

The only ratchets I buy anymore are the dual 80 series from snap on. I haven't had one break yet even after daily use. I would also recommend buying one of their 1/4 extra long ratchets there a foot long they work great on valve covers and tight spaces. They are great ratchets just not as compact as the snap on ones.

Snap On also have their slightly cheaper brand as well, distributed as "Blue Point" but also only available from Snap On. Have got a few of these products as well and find them to be very good value for money. The downside is Snap On in Aus are extremely expensive and to be honest, I don't think the cost of them can be justified all the time. Their warranty is good, I have never had an issue with it and in most cases I have just been given a replacement tool with no questions asked.

 

Bang for buck though, I do like JBS tools. I have a heap of this brand floating around in the workshop and at home in my shed, never had any issues with them and a couple of ratchets I have abused terribly over the years. Not sure if they make an angled handle as you have shown but I do know they make a flexible head version with an extendable handle. Available from "Blackwoods" and are extremely reasonably priced. Can't comment on claiming warranty though as I have never had to make a claim... Yet...

I can't even get ratchet internals for my "baby 3/8" Snapon that I've had since the 70's. Essentially it was a 1/4 drive ratchet body with 3/8 drive guts & great for tight spaces.

And I've had that same Snapon flex-head since the 80's. Pawl & ratchet are just starting to fail now.

If you have a good snap on dealer they will replace the whole ratchet with a new if they can't source a rebuild kit.

Tried that a few years ago. Back then dealers carried spare parts.

 

Recently tried again and dealer wants to take the ratchet in for repairs, but tells me these are not made anymore. Wanted to sell a fatter ratchet to me.

 

Ever try to work in a tight spot with a fat ratchet in your hand? BOOO!

Now I use palm ratchets for this - round, knurled & compact enough to twirl with two fingers.

I have this s-k 3/8 ratchet it's a 3/8 in a 1/4 body haven't had any problems with it since it never sees any torque that would break it https://sktools.com/shop/45173-4-5-3-8-drive-slim-ratchet.html. My families nursery has had the same one for 40 years. I've sent a couple ratchets to s-k in the mail to get rebuilt and they just send you a new one.
