February 18, 200521 yr I just drove in the worst snowstorm of my life, and I am proud that it was in my SUBARU LOYALE STATION WAGON! This thing just amazes me every time i drive it. I also have an F-150 5.0 4wd and would much rather drive my Soobie in slick situations. PRAISE BE TO SUBARU!

Hey I hear you on the snow part, I have three Subies, one in Az for winter driving in the mountains and two in Wi. They don't even know a foot of snow is there, and will handle a lot more, I also have a 99 Dodge Ram 4wd ,bought it new, love it, but when snow comes would rather drive a Loyale or Brat!!!!!!! February 18, 200521 yr I'd rather be driving my '88 DL (which is 2wd for now) than the gmc 3/4 ton that I use as a water truck. It just feels way more stable that the truck. Of course, I can't put 300 gallons of water in the back of a subaru (without snapping the subaru in half), so I'm stuck with the truck sometimes. It also has several more inches of ground clearance for the muddy season.
February 18, 200521 yr same here... lol people need to come to alaska and drive. try taking a mercury sable through thompson pass with 2 feet of snow on the road. We drove from fbks to valdez in 6 1/2 hours (normal trip is 6 hours) Pushed snow over the hood for 40 miles of the drive.
February 18, 200521 yr oh, ya thats right.. the only place it snows is up in Alaska..lol No. It snows in other places. It's just in Alaska where it snows for... 8 months of the year.
February 18, 200521 yr Thats right. US Alaskans know how drive in the snow (well most of us. ) I drive in the Ice Races every weekend on the lake. Now thats what I call fun. Rock Out

February 18, 200521 yr No. It snows in other places. It's just in Alaska where it snows for... 8 months of the year. which it also does in many places in the lower 48 as well..
February 18, 200521 yr which it also does in many places in the lower 48 as well.. Although if this here global warming keeps up it wont be like that much longer. That makes me happy and sad all at the same time
February 18, 200521 yr Although if this here global warming keeps up it wont be like that much longer. That makes me happy and sad all at the same time tell me about it... this has been the worst winter in my 5 years out here in MT.. snowpack in the mtns is about 50% of average, and down here in the valley it has been in the 40-50's almost all winter.. tis very surreal to be out mountain biking in february..
February 19, 200521 yr Thats right. US Alaskans know how drive in the snow (well most of us. ) I drive in the Ice Races every weekend on the lake. Now thats what I call fun. Rock Out Where do they do that at? Sounds like a blast! I'm thinking about running the subaru I just got for $50 in the rallycross next weekend. The entry fee is almost twice what I paid for the car!
February 19, 200521 yr god i wish i could enter into a ice race, or hell any place that has ice that i can drive on for petes sake. ~Josh~
February 19, 200521 yr We have 60cm snow around here in austria, and its snowing again... :-\ But I do not drive my Leone in winter, because of the rust. Its sitting in a garage since october, and I am going to bring it back on the road in march or april. Its a only-summer-car with 4WD and Dual Range! L
