he ever cough up the stuff/money he owed people?

I sent money for a couple things, didn't get 'em...

you want to contact him? I have info that he works at a suby dealership down there in south GA now. I only have the dealership name tho, if you or anybody else wants it PM me. it was really raw what he did, and the fact he never stayed around when he came back promising to deliver the goods

He said he would donate the $ for the stuff he didnt ship to the USMB. As far as I know he never came thru on that either. Personally, I dont want to hear from him ever again.

He's burnt all his bridges and knows it.

Only thing that bothers me is that he went out of his way to get that whole warehouse of stock,or some major portion of it,and then vanished without really cashing in while the market was probably at peak for that old stock.Just didn't make sense.Luckily,I never sent him anything. It really helped that he was "building a pile"for me.I don't know if I should believe that or not, now.

:-\

I received my FSM quickly after I paid. The check and FSM may have crossed in the mail. I agree with Moosens as far as the capitalizing on an investment angle. It's bad business to alienate your main audience.

I see you :-\

what?

I talked with him on NASIOC a bit.

From our conversation he at least says he feels bad about doing what he did. Will we get out money back? Eh maybe, maybe not, but he at least acknowledged that he still owed me a cargo cover or money.

Did he make a wrong choice? Yes

Will he choose to fix it? I hope he does someday, but its gonna be expensive to pay everyone back.

If I ever hear of him willing the lottery or something, I'm asking for my $40 for sure though

Otherwise.... I just hope someday down the road... hell maybe 2 years.... that $40 shows up in my mail :)

with all the bad sentiment maybe this guy would just rather stay away from the whole mess. i dont know anything about it but maybe something came up where he couldnt follow thru for some reason out of his control, and now everyone jumps his case

i dont know anything about this, other than what its like to be hated on. i dont blame the guy if thats the case. my 2 cents

Oh yeah dude, he's lurking all the time...

Alittle history...

If it werent for BillyC, the USMB would have never existed.

Too bad he screwed us. But for people who do not know... he used to own the USMB before he gave it to Shawn.

This info although correct really doesn't mean that another board wasn't going to happen and grow as this one did.He just happened to start the board that we mostly all decided to stay with, way back when.

Here's my take.

He does indeed owe people some money(not me),and should pay it back if he's never going to come through. It was HIS idea to go and buy "a warehouse full of old stock"-his words, and attempt to get it sorted, boxed, and mailed seemingly by himself, while his young wife begins pregnancy....correct me if I'm wrong, and I apologize if I am wrong.

Man,to us vintage owners THAT was going to be the BALLS!!! I personally found an old dealer stash and it's awsome to have a shot at parts you thought you'd never see NEW again.Billy really dangled the old carrot out in front of us.But the horse got teased.

I'd be happy to swing by if he'd contact me and really still has the part we talked about. It'd give me an excuse to get to FL for the '79 wagon Raven has.

Hey....guess what I just realized....

I drive thru Valdosta nearly every other week.

WJM thinks it might be time to stop in the dealer in Valdosta on my way back up next week.....
