November 17, 200520 yr Anayone ever actualy ever see one of these on the road? ........:-\ Hmmm...... nope i haven't.and to be honest i hope i don't cause it looks just plain queer-even if it is a subaru
November 17, 200520 yr If you ever parked one of those in a lumber yard you would never find it again!
November 17, 200520 yr Hey careful with the queer remark .. i dont even think thye would do that. it is so nausating, and here we thought the subaru tribecca was odd looking ....
November 17, 200520 yr Surely I'm not the only one reminded of the Wagon Queen Family Truckster from Vacation.
November 17, 200520 yr I kind of like it, but I'm partial to the faux woody look, I had a 80's K-car wagon with similiar trim. The styling is so ugly and yet it grows on me, however far be it from me to comment on style and taste. Craig
November 17, 200520 yr That has got to be the most Fugly Forester I've ever seen! Where can I get one?
November 17, 200520 yr Hey careful with the queer remark .. i dont even think thye would do that. it is so nausating, and here we thought the subaru tribecca was odd looking .... ok i apologize about that, how about corny
November 17, 200520 yr HAHAHAHAHA i forgot about that.. i think that was a chrysler product. The Family Truckster was a modified Ford LTD Wagon. They dropped the bumper, covered up the grill, and doubled up on the headlights and tail lights.
November 17, 200520 yr I've always wanted a woody (no snickers!!), but I have top admit it looks weird on a Forester. Maybe there would be a way to do and make it look cool. The paint should definately be something other than brown.

The paint should definately be something other than brown. Hey I like that. I always liked the old woody wagons, and I think the forester looks pretty good as one. Way better than silver or tan that most cars nowdays come in. Bleah. I do think that dark blue or red would better than brown. I especially like the big chrome hubcaps -- maybe it's just me, but alloy wheels never did it for me.
November 17, 200520 yr Some funny comments on this thread! IMO it looks so bad it's almost cool. Obviously inspired by the success of the PT cruiser and the release of the HHR, Subaru unfortunately is once again following rather than leading. Honestly I was waiting for GM to stick a miniature Hummer body over the top of the Forester and call the H4 (get it?).
November 18, 200520 yr and the cooment said it was a show car. Like blitz I don't find it too bad but mine sure gets grubby a lot and it looks harder to clean.
November 18, 200520 yr Okay, I'm done vomitting now! The 1949 Desoto Woody I mess with at work: very, very cool Subaru woody: not cool
November 19, 200520 yr The styling is so ugly and yet it grows on me Craig Heh, like a fungus? (sorry, couldn't resist)
November 20, 200520 yr Honestly I was waiting for GM to stick a miniature Hummer body over the top of the Forester and call the H4 (get it?). Got it. Good one blitz. And I wouldn't have put it past GM either! Commuter
November 20, 200520 yr Got it. Good one blitz. And I wouldn't have put it past GM either!I'll tell ya ...the Impreza II platform's proven itself to be durable and versatile, so it really wouldnt've been THAT far-fetched to actually pull it off. It would've been a logical extension of the US auto industry's perverse business-model of making trucks more "car-like". (at this point my foregone conclusion is that the Koreans will have a runaway hit with the radical idea of building trucks which are more "truck-like".)
February 5, 200620 yr That is great! It looks awesome! Kind of like the old gen 1 and 2 wagons with the wood kits. I guess the similarity is only in the wood though since this forester, like all of them (in the states) has plastic bumpers and no dual range, but the appearance is stellar. The paint is actually red, not brown. If you do a google search for foreseter woody you will find more pics from the Chicago auto show in 99. One of them has it displayed with a gen 1 wagon in the background.
February 5, 200620 yr Hey careful with the queer remark .. i dont even think thye would do that. it is so nausating, and here we thought the subaru tribecca was odd looking .... The woodgrain thing might actually improve the B9 Edsel, er, Tribeca.
