Stolen Car alert, Bothell, WA area--Recovered

Featured Replies

I put this here instead of off topic since I didn't want to deal with the posting delay. Sometime between 9PM Sunday night and 7AM this Monday morning my wife's '97 Impreza wagon was taken from our driveway. It is dark blue in color, WA tag number 892-TEV. Nothing exotic about the car, no fancy tires/wheels or such. If anyone in the area spots it, please notify the local police or call 911. I've filed a stolen car report. Thanks.

Man I am really sorry to hear that.Good luck.If you need some help beatin' them down when you find who took it let me know.

Oh ED! That sucks. Will keep an eye out.

As will I. I have a whole lot of nothing to do today, maybe I'll mosey out that way and do a sweep thru the area.

Hopefully it is just some kids taking it for a joy ride, and not one of those chop shops with an order to fill. My sister had a plain Jane Nova taken from a pay parking garage, the police found it about a day later, undamaged, just out of gas. I can't believe that they had to pay for the parking to get the car out of the garage.

I'll key a lookout while driving through Redmond for you, but I most drive on highways.

Sorry to hear that, Ed. I hope it has just gone for a joy ride and is recovered intact.

Back from my sweep of the Lynnwood/Bothell/Everett area and no luck, but I have a Kia-owner friend who lives near you, Ed... he's going to keep a look out, and so is his brother, who was a police explorer and I believe now works for Kirkland police...

Thanks a lot Geoff. And to all who called and wrote. We'll survive, but it was a nice impreza!! Lots worse things could have happened.

Oh no, that's awful Ed! That must have happened like, an hour or two after Sarah and I left your place! :(

I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm all over the eastside, Kirkland/Redmond/Bellevue.

EDIT: Wait, we came over saturday night. 1 hour, 2 hours, 25 hours, close enough! :P

Lame, Ed! I hope you get it back in good shape.

I make trips from Redmond to Shoreline regularly. I'll keep an eye out.

Best of luck.

That Sucks,... We had another Car stolen from a board member in Seattle, Not a subie though.. I won't say names,, but If someone comes near my car I'm kickin there A!!

That's terrible, Ed, but I guess there's a bright side. Better to have it stolen from your driveway than to have it carjacked, but it still must be a terrible feeling. It's probably just some punk kids with nothing better to do.

Holy Cow Ed, I keep my eyes peeled. It also makes me want to install a hidden ignition kill switch on the Brat.--Brian

i`ve got the east coast covered for you Ed:)

sorry for your loss:-\

:eek::eek: oh no!!! that sucks!

wonder if its the same crazy person that stole the one I ended up buying? (same color even!)

hope you find it.. I will let me washington buddies know to keep an eye out for it- good luck!

:) Good news, the Impreza was recovered this morning. Some minor damage and the radio is missing (of course); but nothing that can't be fixed. Details to follow.

Ed, I think that I have a spare radio (Subaru).

Excellent news, ED. It's all of the good kahrma.
It can't hurt; I'll take anything I can get.

glad to hear your sooby was found, was it very far from you?

I have an Impreza tape deck if you want it Ed... for you.... FREE, just PM if you want it (its from a 99 OBS)

I was just going to post "Hey I think Mike has an Impreza tape deck.." Glad to see you recovered your car. Some guy I went to high school with had his Civic stolen, two weeks later they recovered it, stripped of the grapefruit launcher and cold air intake and stereo, and some body panels, sitting in a field next to an identical Civic that was stripped of all the interior and the drive train. At least all they made off with was the stereo.
