NoahDL88
Can it say Subaru?
Turbone
Most definatly, they cant keep you from having that in a sentence or something similiar to that. Never heard anything from all the shirts from the previous shows, or the name we have for it either.
TheSubaruJunkie
They might have a copyright on the logo, but i bet you they cant stop us from using the stars! I'll get to crackin! What kinda hats are you gonna get? Im a hat junkie as well, but can only wear certain hats that fit right. Cheap hats just dont work as well. -Brian

Not sure yet. Price is the big factor. But I did get a catalog from the place today.
nicky nighteyes
so, just to clarify: you are looking for a hat design? or a flyer? isn't the flyer supposed to have sponsor logos, and attractions of the event, etc? but if its a hat design than I am game. (flyers too, but it seems kinda early to have the details are worked out) Maybe a wool blend, maybe a choice of a few. Not sure yet. Price is the big factor. But I did get a catalog from the place today.
scrap487
honestly... I dont see how anyone would have a problem with the logo being used. You are using their logo, with their name on it, to advertise a show of products, WHICH THEY SELL.
nicky nighteyes
oh yeah, the logo is definitly a no-no. Within implicit permission from a copyright holder you CANNOT use their copywrited work for anything. It is an issue of liability and perceptibility. and they can sue ya
NuclearBacon
...have we asked for permission?
Turbone
Thats not the point. No business will touch it, they cant afford to have a major car manufacturer breathing down thier necks for copyright infringements. If you want a logo on your merchandise, you will have to buy it from Subaru. Or have it sewn on by a someone that has a embroidery machine at home (hint, hint ) That said, lets keep this thread for the flyers and any hat comments in the "Hat Thread". If someone comes up with a illustration for anything, post it over there. It doesnt have to be in common with the flyers.
nicky nighteyes
Turbone is right, I shoulda clarified a little. getting "permission" means lots of $$$$

Turbone
It just dawned on me. We display the logo on the top of every page here. Did we need permission? Our are we just taking a chance they dont notice?

TheSubaruJunkie
Hey thats it!! Can we use our logo?? Do we need permission to do that? -Brian
TheSubaruJunkie
Okay ive come up with my entries. and if you wanted to slim it down even more and take the "eighth annual" out: I dont think this is considered using copyrighted logo's, since this is the altered logo i made for the USMB a while back. Its in simple black & white, the person doing the stitching could use any color thread they desire. I vote for yellow on blue and white on black. I would buy one of each. -Brian p.s. on the back around the strap I'd put "west coast subaru show 8" or something.

TheSubaruJunkie
Rob Im going to work on something else that doesnt have our logo... or a subaru logo in it. I have another idea. that may look better and have less stitches. -Brian
Subarutex
I, along with a few others, feel that PK really has hit the nail on the head. My professional render of Mr. Ozified's logo:
Syrinx
Subarujunkies are nice, but i do like Ozified's license plate better. Why not both? I wouldn't be worried about sopyright infringment, theres no profit being made.

TheSubaruJunkie
I like the license plate idea much better as well. But how much is that gonna cost to stitch? I was trying to keep it 2 tone and simple. -Brian
ezapar
Oh uh, that's the keeper all right. But the lettering needs to be more blue if you know what I mean. Subaru Blueish. And the tags just a little bigger. But beautiful clean up Tex. No more fuzzy.
