Air Horns.

Although, i get cheap sets... and they never hold up to water very well. I'm on my 3rd set...

Hidden in the glove box. With a switch to 'simulate' the deck face being folded down to allow the CD to eject.

looks really good tex. i love that switch panel, very very smart, i've been running out of room for all my switches :-/ i love that sub box,it doesnt take much room at all. just the unesed space.did u build the box yourself?

Yup, designed and built the box myself... with the help and tools of my Grandpa.

Sub is a Pioneer 10" DVC 1500w capable. The amp, mounted in the box, under the window, is a Pioneer 1000w X 1 mono amp.

I like how you did the face plate of the stereo, just curious as to how it's connected to the unit itself. Got the gears turning here......

if i had a switch panel in my car like that my best friend would get in there and start fliping all of them. whats the switch for thats says door? door light of some kind.

ok tex...help me out here. You took the radio and made a wire harness from the folded face to the HU right? Or am I off here? If so you got some pics of that harness?

I have an 83 that I refuse to hack up but the factory radio sucks. If I could find a way to be crafty like this i'd be all over it.

You can do it with almost any deck with a removable faceplate. Just solder wires onto the contacts on the back of the faceplate and connect those wires to the contacts on the deck itself. As tex said, you need to put a switch on one of those wires so the deck knows when the "faceplate is off", although that's only because this particular deck has a swivel type faceplate.

(sorry for stealing your thunder, tex)

I wish my wagon looked as good as yours! Awesome setup for the cd player.
