April 6, 200718 yr Got 'em on yesterday. Spent the afternoon cutting and banging to get them to stop rubbing here and there. I'm satisfied that with 2 more inches they'll barely rub at all. Pretty much they only rub on the front of the fender when turning. Rather than cut into it, I'll wait to see if the lift will make it better. Most likely, I'll do like Austin and cut the bottom of the bumper off for approach. Anyways. . . For those who say it can't be done, there's better than a half an inch of clearance btween the rear strut and tire. The wheels have the perfect offset. hey, nice butt. lol clearance clarence
April 6, 200718 yr Very nice indeed! I like the old school subaru badge on the back of your imp. That thing is looking really nice. Turbo the engine then go to the mud drags.
April 7, 200718 yr Holy Lugs batman! those are dead sexy... nice work zap! i really should get working on my OBS again, to keep up with you guys again, HOTT!!!
April 7, 200718 yr just looking at the pic from the rear, it looks like those wheels have a bit less offset than stock, which might help the strut clearance. in any case...looks hot! are those 29s?
April 7, 200718 yr Author what kind are they? lol 27/9.50/14 Super Swamper SSR. Should be all lifted and ready to rock at the WCSS this year.
April 7, 200718 yr don't you lol at me, sucker. I thought they looked swamperish but the sidewalls strongly reminded me of the snow tires I've got on my coupe now..
April 7, 200718 yr I'm not seeng a 2.2 litre badge on the back, but I hope the car has one in it to turn those. Looks awesome. How much rubbing under flex?
April 8, 200718 yr 27/9.50/14 Super Swamper SSR oh....there's the explanation and proof....29s would be pretty much the biggest you could run.
April 18, 200718 yr Looks really good! What gears you running in your car? 3.9 or 4.11,4.44? That really changes the attitude of the car.
